DJL 232 #1 April 30, 2005 Speak up. What were your favorite songs back when you wore a jean jacket and had bangs growing as high as hairspray could support? I'm putting together a CD called Chicks with Bangs; A Tribute to 80's Rocker Chicks. A few that come to mind just to whet the whistle: Pour Some Sugar on Me, Def Leppard Living on a Prayer, Bon Jovi Here I Go Again on My Own, Whitesnake Don't Stop Believing, Journey Panama, Van Halen And here's a link for a pretty solid list of 80's metal. http://www.bighairmetal.com/"I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

DJL 232 #3 April 30, 2005 OK, I admit it and will change the title: "A Tribute to the Chicks who took off their tops at Van Halen concerts." My line of thought actually isn't the performers, it's the teased-hair overpainted girls I used to be in love with in my adolescence. The one who look at their highschool pictures and say, "Holy Shit, how did I get my hair to stay a foot above my head" and will drop any conversation at a bar to rock-out to Pour Some Sugar on Me while she reflects on the Jersey days. It's just been a bunch of dudes working on this with me, so I need female input."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

They started a lot of there tours here and even shot video for one.... To only be young and go back to those days again...Wait, maybe not...Oh hell ya, wouldn't change a thing, made me who I am today...******* Punky Monkey You may never get rid of the butterflies, but you can teach them how to fly in formation
NWFlyer 2 #9 April 30, 2005 How could you leave off Guns N Roses? "Sweet Child..." is the perfect heavy metal song!"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. lawrocket 3 #19 April 30, 2005 QuoteA tribute to rocker chicks but you've listed songs by male rockers? Makes no sense to me.... Frankly, not many people paid attention to Lita Ford's female groupies. The rocker chicks were the female metal-heads. It's just too bad I was the rocker dude in the mid 1990's, when grunge was in and I just didn't have enough angst to get a big groupie following. Those groupie scenes in the 1980's? You gotta have: 1) Dr. Feelgood - Motley Crue 2) ANything by RATT or Dokken. 3) Google Tawny Kitaen and use any song or band that shows up (disregard her beating of hubby pitcher Chuck Finlet) 4) Sex Farm - SPinal Tap. RkyMtnHigh 0 #24 April 30, 2005 I'm so against Guns & Roses...especially "Sweet child of mine". This is a recent sentiment as my neighbor below me plays it really loud and keeps hitting the "replay" button. I've been "quarantined" for 2 weeks and dont get much of a choice to listen to that song over and over and over and over.. Trying to figure out if he's trying to learn the song for Karaoke night? is he down there dancin in his sockfeet? playin air guitar? I dunno...but that dude needs to diversify! _________________________________________
