What are your favorite musicals?

Recommended Posts

Les Mis is by far my favorite, makes me cry every time. But I also love Paint Your Wagon (nothing like seeing Clint Eastwood sing in the movie version). And Camelot. The last scene, where Arthur says "Each evening from September to September, before you fall asleep upon your cot, think back on all the tales that you remember, of Camelot" So sad.

Jesus Christ Superstar

Hair

How about Cry Baby, I think that's the name? With Johnny Depp, also starring Iggy Pop and Patty Hearst.

I also liked Grease and Grease 2.

Rent is awesome. It was the first musical I ever saw on Broadway, and was with the original cast. Good memories. :)
Just found out they made it into a movie too, and it'll come out 11/23/05! I hope they do a good job with it! They got all of the original cast except for for two (Mimi and Joanne). Trailer here

My favorite movie/musical of ALL TIME is The Sound of Music.

ABSOLUTELY! This is my all time favorite.

But I often rent "Little Shop of Horrors" with Steve Martin...just for the songs.

Speaking of which, what about other movie musicals? Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Flashdance, Fame, etc., etc., etc. And Disney movies. Who can't think of at least one song that became famous that started out in a movie?

Growing up, The Sound of Music and Fiddler on the Roof were my favorites. I think you would like Phantom if you rented the dvd.

I agree that The Blue Man Group is awesome and if you like Queen music, We Will Rock You is fantastic, but you'd have to go to England to see it!
