peregrinerose 0 #26 August 10, 2005 Les Mis is by far my favorite, makes me cry every time. But I also love Paint Your Wagon (nothing like seeing Clint Eastwood sing in the movie version). And Camelot. The last scene, where Arthur says "Each evening from September to September, before you fall asleep upon your cot, think back on all the tales that you remember, of Camelot" So sad. BillyVance 34 #27 August 10, 2005 QuoteJesus Christ Superstar Hair How about Cry Baby, I think that's the name? With Johnny Depp, also starring Iggy Pop and Patty Hearst. I also liked Grease and Grease 2."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
skysprite 0 #28 August 10, 2005 Rent is awesome. It was the first musical I ever saw on Broadway, and was with the original cast. Good memories. Just found out they made it into a movie too, and it'll come out 11/23/05! I hope they do a good job with it! They got all of the original cast except for for two (Mimi and Joanne). Trailer here~skysprite
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #29 August 10, 2005 QuoteOk you're the 4th person to mention 'Rent' and I've never even heard of it. What's it about? Rent is a modern-day version of Puccini's opera La boheme with the story taking place in New York with young artists/musicians struggling and dealing with life, finances, love & AIDS. boinky 0 #35 August 10, 2005 Quote My favorite movie/musical of ALL TIME is The Sound of Music. ABSOLUTELY! This is my all time favorite. But I often rent "Little Shop of Horrors" with Steve Martin...just for the songs. Speaking of which, what about other movie musicals? Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Flashdance, Fame, etc., etc., etc. And Disney movies. Who can't think of at least one song that became famous that started out in a movie?Nina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts?
