Is anyone else in the SK Library? I am. I have all his hardcovers.

I actually like some of his "newer" books. Needful Things, Desperation, The Dark Half. But his older ones are classics!

I watched that movie in high school, freaked me out.. then I read the book.

I love Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Good stuff.

Gerald's game was TERRIBLE! One of the few King novels I wish I had not read. But, there's so much more that's really great, so try again! They aren't even all scary. He's got a great ability to write characters that you really care about one way or another. You love them or you hate them but you're drawn into their stories.

Please Please don't let Geralds Game be the last Stephen King novel you ever read! Try Bag of Bones- that's one of my favorites and its more suspense than horror.

I was in the library for a long time. I moved a couple of times and the books kept finding me- the last one I remember getting was Hearts in Atlantis, then they just stopped.

Yes, that and The Green Mile. But if Gerald's Game was the only King novel I ever picked up, I doubt I'd read another one. That one was just awful from start to finish.

Beatiful series and so many books tie into it: Insomnia, It, Bag of Bones to name a few.

Plus, I loved the end. Very cool and angering...so I liked it.

I see the clown....from 'It'??? I like him alright, but he has some really bad ones too. Some of his seem really slasher-like...I lean more to the Dean Koontz style of writing!

Eek, i read that too. I used to read all his stuff til Gerald's Game and Insomnia. I still think my fave story was The Langoliers. I really enjoyed his shorter stories best since i have no attention span.

i like his shorter works too, and bachman books... misery was ok, insomnia was, eh, so so... tommynockers, eh, but shit he had some killers didn't he?

Yeah you really do have to have an attention span for some of his books before he ties it all together, but that is what I like about his writing.

Bag of Bones was great that way!

Sorry....

Many of his books ive read several times over...Pet Sematary, Firestarter, The Stand, It, The Green Mile, Skeleton Crew, Misery, Cujo, Carrie...just to name a few.

I love the way some of his characters and settings make appearances in several different books.

I have yet to read any of the Dark Tower series although I have been told that it is the best of the lot...

I loved it too. I had trouble sleeping for hours after I read the part where she looks over and sees a man standing in the corner in the shadows...

I'm on the 3rd book of Dark Tower right now. Great as always! My favorites so far are Needfull Things and Talisman and Shining and Misery and Pet Semetary....and on and on (excluding Gerald, that one is just sick)
