Lindercles 0 #1 July 8, 2006 At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?! May I see it?
MF42 0 #2 July 8, 2006 Don't know about the kitchen, but I've seen the Aurora Borealis twice since moving to the IL/WI area four years ago! I didn't know it was possible to see it this far south. Matt
Jaden 0 #3 July 8, 2006 Actually... The most incredible display in history was April 7, 2000 in Helsinki, Finland. This is my birthday by 19 years. It was above & beyond breath-taking.

MF42 0 #5 July 8, 2006 When I saw it what struck me as incredible was how tall the lights are. They had never been described to me that way, and I had always envisioned a colorful, wiggling, wispy little cloud. But the real thing looks like a curtain that's a hundred miles wide and even taller than it is wide, so that the top just vanishes away into infinity. Ok, so I know that it's not actually infinitely tall, but it sure looks like it. Matt

I imagine youd get some weather phenomenon in your kitchen if you cranked up both your AC and oven to full blast. Maybe some clouds. Maybe even the Aurora Borealis . I think the serenity of the wilderness and the moonless sky really enhanced it alot.
