Also the pigment of the iris is really patchy if you look closely, so you may notice more yellow flecks in hazel eyes sometimes when close, but from farther away the iris may just seem a smooth even green. Most babies are born with blue eyes, and over several weeks they may get green to brown eyes as their iris cells make pigments. psychoswooper 2 #33 September 25, 2006 Blue. Has anyone else noticed as I have over the years that a disproportionate (compared to the general population) number of skydivers have blue eyes.? I have also noticed this amongst aviators in general. Just check it out next time you get on board a jump plane. I would almost bet that more than half of the jumpers will be blue eyed.
