Baby animals in the womb...WOW

WOW.... there's a forthcoming T.V prog' (next week - UK) with some excellent pictures of baby animals in the womb... I saw one of a Dolphin... fascinating stuff.

I agree, it was very good. The various style of effects used blended seemlessly, the information was presented in an intelligent and understandable way for the whole (almost) family and the pace of the delivery (no pun intended) seemed to be spot on.

Before I saw the programme I was afraid the 'live' womb shots would look like undeveloped Muppets of Rolf, Gonzo and Scooter, but they were so well done you'd swear they were real.

As I understand it, it is real, at least partially, although I couldn't find enough documentation to confirm that. The best I could find was on their website, that says "Using state-of-the-art visual effects, computer graphics and real-time, moving 4-D ultrasound imagery..." Which says to me that they actually did the 4-D ultrasound on the animals and then enhanced it with computer graphics, but it's hard to tell exactly how much.
