bigway 4 #1 July 9, 2007 Stupid fucking game!! Playing live, I have Q9 Buy into flop is $5 Flop is Q 5 9 Someone raises to $40 5 callers, The i re-raise to $100 Next guy re -raises to $500, I did not put him on queens so i called. turn card is a 9, I check, He goes all in with $1500. I call as I have full house. River is a fucking King and he throws his cards in over the line upside down. Everyone is like argh, and then he reaches over the lines and turns his cards up the right way after realising he mucked by mistake. I didnt give a shit that he showed me a king nine because he mucked but the dealer was a friend of his and said it was not a muck as she did not touch the cards and the stupid fuck won the pot!! What the fuck was he doing betting that big on a $200 buy in table anyway. That fucker mucked and that pot should have been mine! So pissed off with this as it was a very big pot considering our usual pots are average of $200 .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
za_skydiver 0 #2 July 9, 2007 If he threw the cards in face down he mucked, pot shoulda been yours. Face up its his. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
Thanatos340 1 #3 July 9, 2007 QuoteStupid fucking game!! Playing live, I have Q9 Mistake #1 - Playing a Shit hand. Hard to have sympathy for anyone that had a piss poor starting hand to begin with and got lucky on the Flop. Mistake #2 is sitting at a NL Table that would EVER that many callers after a flop is just crazy. Someone is always going to get lucky if they are that stupid. QuoteNext guy re -raises to $500, I did not put him on queens so i called. $500?? QQ is the last hand I would thought about there... Either he has Presto and just floped the set, The other two 9s, An over pair that he slow played preflop (Which is what you are hoping here.) or he is making a Move trying to Run Off the Calling stations. second reraise SCREAMS set or over pair. Presto or semi-Bluff (As it turned out to be) Now is where you HAVE to push back if you think Your Top Two are good enough. The pot is plenty big enoufgh to take it Down right there. Cant let him draw for free. As for the Muck ruling.. It varies from Card Room to Card Room but the most common ruling is that if the Cards didn’t touch the Muck pile or any other cards, they can be recovered and the hand is still live. Again I have seen this go both ways but that is the most common ruling.
bigway 4 #4 July 9, 2007 Fair enough. I checked so he would re raise. Playing it slow. However going into a pot for $40 when blinds are $5/$10 on Q9... I dont know, seemed ok to me. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Thanatos340 1 #8 July 10, 2007 Straight from the Rule Book: QuoteDEAD HANDS 1. Your hand is declared dead if: (a) You fold or announce that you are folding when facing a bet or a raise. (b) You throw your hand away in a forward motion causing another player to act behind you (even if not facing a bet). (c) In stud, when facing a bet, you pick your upcards off the table, turn your upcards facedown, or mix your upcards and downcards together. (d) The hand does not contain the proper number of cards for that particular game (except at stud a hand missing the final card may be ruled live, and at lowball and draw high a hand with too few cards before the draw is live). [See Section 16 - “Explanations,” discussion #4, for more information on the stud portion of this rule.] (e) You act on a hand with a joker as a holecard in a game not using a joker. (A player who acts on a hand without looking at a card assumes the liability of finding an improper card, as given in Irregularities, rule #8.) (f) You have the clock on you when facing a bet or raise and exceed the specified time limit. 2. Cards thrown into the muck may be ruled dead. However, a hand that is clearly identifiable may be retrieved at management’s discretion if doing so is in the best interest of the game. We will make an extra effort to rule a hand retrievable if it was folded as a result of false information given to the player. 3. Cards thrown into another player’s hand are dead, whether they are faceup or facedown. Read #2 carefully. Like I said it could have gone either way. I personally would have called for the Floor and had them make the ruling but on a pot that size, The Floor will almost always go with awarding the pot to the best hand if the Cards were clearly identifiable and did not touch the Muck Pile. CanvasAnchor 0 #9 July 10, 2007 No shit ? Shouldn't there be consideration for the apparent intent , that the seemingly folding player , had at the time the cards were tossed . BTW Hi thanatos340 . Who is picking up the tab for all of this ?
Thanatos340 1 #10 July 10, 2007 The rule came about to stop Leather Asses from Shooting angles. A common tactic some unethical players would try would be to Miss Call Their Hand (Knowing that CARDS Speak is the rule in almost every poker room in the country) hoping the other player would Muck thus killing the better hand. So now even if you toss you cards face down, If they have NOT touched the Muck pile, The cards may still be live at the disgression of the Floor (If the cards are CLEARLY identifiable, They will almost always be Live). However, If the cards came in contact with the Muck Pile at all, the cards will be declared dead.
