katzurki 0 #1 May 29, 2006 Any reason not to wear them on skydiving jumps? Any experiences / stories to tell? Thanks. This one: Super Fly GTX. You may not care about either of those points. My (only) concern is what happens if the grippy sole catches on the ground during the plane-out, and won't wearing them do more harm than good? You need something with a smooth sole (or at least mostly smooth). That's why most of us wear Vans or similar. Of course, Vans give you no ankle support at all.Arrive Safely John
 jdthomas 0 #8 May 29, 2006 QuoteOf course, Vans give you no ankle support at all. Vans did have the old skool in a high top if you are looking for some support. Look for the Adidas/Goodyear driving shoes - smooth sole and ankle support. No rubber on the toes, so crap if you spend time on creepers, but otherwise good.
