I saw a truck with a lone sticker--"Against Me"--and found it curious. Thus, I googled and listened to a couple tunes. Not bad--actually I really liked their sound.

But, I haven't bought the album. Nor, have I found much of "what's new these days" remotely original. I don't care how much I sound like my mom, now.:P

Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

They do sound a lot like the White Stripes.

I discovered the White Stripes a few years ago when my friend Frank gave me their CD. He had bought it for himself and thought it was total crap, so he figured that I would like it, and he was right. :D

Mark Kozelek of the Red House Painters other band, Sun Kil Moon. His covers of Modest Mouse tunes are worth a serious listen to. Actually, I like his versions of the songs better than Brocks.

His covers of AC/DC songs are also kickass.

Okkervil River, Vampire Weekend, Dengue Fever and Thao and the Get Down Stay Down.

I listen to KEXP online. They play a lot of great music you don't hear on commercial radio.
