lawrocket 3 #26 May 15, 2008 I usually make my own. I didn't yesterday since I didn't have the time to do it right. I picked up some pizza dough from the deli where I got the italian sausage and prosciutto. And it was good. When I make pizza dough, I insist on high-gluten flour (we called it "power flour" when I was a baker). I use Culligan water, Kosher salt. Olive oil. And active yeast (I'm still no good with fast-rising. I am most comfortable with regular active dry). Then mix the hell out of it util it forms a "pane" texture - if it tears instead of forming a membrane then mix it more. My wife is hotter than your wife. Slowfaller 0 #27 May 15, 2008 The most important component of my pizza is what hot sauce I put on it. Cheese or cheese and sausage is fine enough for me. Lately it's been Kiss of Fire by CaJohn. Its a scotch bonnet pepper sauce. Your pizza does sound good though! --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
Broke 0 #28 May 15, 2008 It would seem that my dough is a little more boring than your dough is. Maybe it is time to enter test kitchen mode again. Shawndiver 0 #30 May 15, 2008 On the bbq, how cool is that! Here's a favorite of mine, Thin crust marinara sauce 1st layer of mozzarella and parmesan 2nd layer of FRESH baby shrimp. Don't skimp on the shrimp! (shredded lobster tail may be used instead) cover with another layer of mozzarella and parmesan bake on a stone when cooked thru, broiler for 3 minutes to put a nice brown color to the high points on the toppings._________________

doug925 0 #32 May 15, 2008 After 6 months on the South Beach Diet, I'll take ANY pizza! Preferably, a homemade shrimp, basil, and pesto pizza with an olive oil base sauce. Or a Pappa John's Hawaii n. Give me a beer to wash it down with.I have never developed indigestion from eating my words. Winston Churchill
