bluepill 0 #2 June 12, 2008 Indeed. Got the DVD. The shot where he takes a guy out who is jumping across the gap is a cracker. BP
Peej 0 #3 June 12, 2008 Have you ever played Medal of Honour? The world war two one? There was a sniper map called Stalingrad which was exactly like the film, used to LOVE it Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky

kbordson 8 #5 June 12, 2008 Good movie. But I felt badly for how they portrayed Sacha Filipov. I know he was a spy... and I know he was executed (though not in that fashion in the movie).... but he was just a child.

shropshire 0 #8 June 12, 2008 QuoteI wouldn't call that "old". You're right John. I guess that 7 (or 8) years isn't really old but a lot of people are only interested in talking about fresh off the press films. I know that the film was not historically correct, but as a story, it stood up well and was very atmospheric. (.)Y(.) kschilk 0 #9 June 12, 2008 Saw it at the theatre, when it first came out....excellent movie and way better than any of the "Sniper" movies. Though Vassili's story was a bit embellished....the portrayal of Stalingrad during the battle, the civilians, the soldiers, their equipment and tactics seemed pretty spot-on, historically speaking. Looked like somebody did some research, for this one."T'was ever thus."
Whiskeyboi 0 #10 June 13, 2008 yeah...i must be ancient... an old film to me would star Charlie Chaplin or Fatty Arbuckle. a newer film would be Rebecca...or An Affair to Remember. guess i'm ready for a dirtnap...
