phoenixlpr 0 #2 January 23, 2006 Sure. You won't be as cool as other guys with fancy FF or RW suits, but it will do for you. We have nice yellow overalls for student as a jumpsuit. They call it banana suit :).

phoenixlpr 0 #4 January 23, 2006 I've seen braun jump suit/overall for students. That has some advantage too .
masterrig 1 #5 January 23, 2006 I've seen one or two, over the years. The gray, Dickies 'coveralls' with hand-sewn grippers on them. They worked, till the person could save the money for a 'real' jumpsuit. Note" Be sure, to remove the 'hammer loop' from the leg! Chuck
ngawang01 0 #6 January 23, 2006 Is the jumpsuit a really necessary piece of equipment or is just a "Looks cool" item? "Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies Tongue-tied and twisted Just an earth-bound misfit, I". pf
GravityGirl 0 #7 January 23, 2006 The jumpsuit offers a few benfits: Protects your clothing from dirt and tears. Has nothing dangling or flaping in freefall. Does not ride up your legs. Keeps you warm in winter. Helps your fall rate. Speeds you up or slows you down. Gives your buddies a place to grip you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! You do not 'need' a jumpsuit to make a skydive. It's when you enter in to one of the various disciplines of the sport that, a jumpsuit becomes necessary. I'm going to avoid getting into the whole aerodynamics thing but, I'm just keeping it 'basic'. Hope, this helps. Chuck
phoenixlpr 0 #9 January 23, 2006 Quote Is the jumpsuit a really necessary piece of equipment or is just a "Looks cool" item? Take it this way. A plain overall may serve you as long as you could find out what kind of jump suite you want to have, You may not know your fall-rate and what discipline you are interested yet. bob.dino 0 #10 January 23, 2006 If you want to do half-decent relative work on your belly or on the vertical, yep. If you just wanna get out of the plane and mess around, nope.

Superman32 0 #12 January 24, 2006 I didn't have one for about 80 jumps. Just got a Freakn'Suit and it does make a difference. My suit is in the very baggy side so it did require some re-learning to fly my body Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

He could stay-up with anyone in the sky. Mainly, in his own words; "I'm too cheap to buy a new jumpsuit!" He told me that if you know how to fly your body, a jumpsuit really, doesn't make a difference. I know, I just opened a can of worms here but, the man made a point.
