I'm cleaning out my office (tomorrow is my last day as a rocket scientist -- the shuttle program is ending, and I'm volunteering for one of the outs), and going through papers.

I'm looking at materials from classes that I've taken over the years. Funny how in the touchy-feely classes, I'm pretty honest about nailing what some of the problems are, without any ability whatsoever to fix them it seems

These are all notes I've pencilled in. I've gotten better at some stuff over the years, but I still suck at these.

So they arent coming up with another delivery vehicle that will replace the shuttle? From my limited knowledge I hear that they are going back to vehicles like the saturn rockets but, wouldnt they want to have another re-usable platform like an updated shuttle for the future? Just asking...I'd personally like the US to ramp up space exploration to the next level. Good Luck. If you get bored and have the need to fill spare time by jumping with a n00b let me know!

We, over at the NBL are in layoff mode also, and it's tough to see friends go. My contract is ok for now, but ya never know. Good luck on future endeavors... !
