That's not 'just' in France...same thing at finer restaurants all over.


I went balistic once in Italy - EMPTY restaurant and they wanted to offer 'downstairs' seating for the 'tourists'. . . gave 'em a whole new definition of Ugly American! :ph34r:>:(

Capt. Mom was rather surprised at my restraint in dealing with a snobbish condescending waiter in Paris once...I told her, with him standing tableside... that I had to kinda him him a pass this time - "My dad spent some time here freeing this country from the Nazis, from what he told me about the women of Paris - this guy & I are probably related!" :) ...d00d came unglued>:(

I've seen it most in NYC & L.A. - being an old guy that usually looks like a serial killer on a weekend pass from prison, I get stuffed in the corner quite a bit.:D

Told a waiter in L.A. once it was fine with me, when the nutcase with the AK goes postal...it's the folks out front makin' the easiest targets! B|
