Hi,

I'm a self-confessed computer know-nothing.

So how do I take drawing in a pdf file & convert it into a jpg file?

JerryBaumchen

If you use Adobe Reader I think you can rightclick on the image and copy it.
Then you can paste it in any 'paint' software and save it.
Or if you don't know any of those softwares you can use MS Word and paste it there and use Word to save it as a jpeg.

Hi Paul,

It is an H-P computer with Windows 7.

I also use a H-P printer in which I can scan the drawing as a pdf.

Do you need more info?

In that case you have a tool called 'snipping tool'.
Click on start and type "snipping" and it should pop up as a suggested file.

Just have th pdf open and open snipping tool, the screen will go greyish. Use the mouse and left mousebutton to draw a rectangle over the drawing.
The area selected will be shown in the snipping tool and here you can go to file -> save as.

Hi Hellis,

Thanks; that worked.

I have had the Snipping Tool on my desktop for some time.

What I had to do was open the pdf, then shrink it sufficiently so that I could then open the Snipping Tool next to it.

Then it was just capture & save as a jpg.

To BIGUN, I don't have that model of H-P printer/copier/scanner so that option is not available. But thank you anyway,

JerryBaumchen

PS) Now, if I can just remember this stuff. :P

The snipping tool does not have to be open next to any other window.
If you open the PDF, and then open the snipping tool it will open on top of the PDF.
But that only works if you open the snipping tool from the start menu.
If you open it from the desktop shortcut, as you did, you need to resize it or cancel the first 'snipp' then open the PDF again and switch window to snipping tool again.
