JohnRich 4 #5 October 10, 2004 QuoteHow long does a container last , is a container with 800 jumps an old one.? Generally speaking, you can get about 2,500 jumps on a container, before riggers start frowning at it. So one with 800 jumps, if it's been taken care of properly, should still have some life left in it.

gemini 0 #7 October 10, 2004 Agree with how well it is cared for. These rigs are easy to spot since they are clean, velcro (if any) is in good shape or replaced, no stiffeners or broken or show through the fabric, material on edges and around grommets shows no wear, harness threads are intact, metal parts have no burrs or other damage, pc pouch elastic is in good shape or replaced, etc. There are lots of other things... pms07 3 #8 October 10, 2004 How long does a container last , is a container with 800 jumps an old one.? *** It really depends on how the system has been cared for, used, and or abused. A harness container that's been well maintained can last for thousands of jumps over many years. On the other hand, you'll see rigs being dragged across the ground or pavement while being packed, left out in the sun for hours and basic maintenance ignored. It always amazes me to see someone wait weeks or months for a fairly expensive custom color rig, then not take care of it. After 50-100 jumps the rig looks like shit...go figure. pms
