Who doesn't like "cookies"???
:D

Makes one ponder the question on how good the cookies are in Alaska.

Some of us could be considered "pros", as it were.
:P

Did you mean "prose" or were you inferring you are a "provert"

ONLY guys would turn this into a topic about "cookies"

I don't see what the problem is, she would make me a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Get your mind out of the gutter. :|

These "tech support" scams are not just viruses anymore. They now pop up from some websites; so will be seen on any computer even if new and virus free. If these pop up or others such as the ones that say "are you sure you want to leave this site?", do not click on it. Just open Task Manager (via Control+Alt+Delete) and shut your browser down.

Also it is good to use “cleaner” software everyday. CCleaner www.piriform.com is free and works great. This will clean out all cookies/cache/history and is not just good for security, but helps any computer run faster.

For virus protection/firewall, use something like Kaspersky or NOD32; it’s what tech geeks use (except the really proper ones who are on Linux). Don’t touch McAfee or Norton; it’s rubbish mass-market “Mom & Pop” software for fools.

Has he bought a TV with your credit card yet?

That's what I was just wondering. Dispute the charges immediately.

I used to do LOTS of desktop support and became better than I ever wanted to be at removing all kinds of things like this. It took a strong amount of education toward the users to finally get them to stop clicking on all pop-ups. That's also the reason very few of the users had admin rights.
