skykix 0 #1 July 4, 2003 Hi, I am hooked. Not sure if it's through the mouth or the wallet but can't think about much else. Did AFF levels 4, 5, 6 today with 3 stand-ups. 6 is going to be a do-over but it was fun anyway . Any other students here from Skydive Dallas? Driving back from the DZ almost got nailed on the highway by a boat that must have been a 25 footer. It came off its trailer going the opposite direction, did a flip in the median and almost into my lane. 3 jumps no problem, drive home near disaster. AggieDave 6 #2 July 4, 2003 SD Dallas isn't my home DZ, but I grew up in Sherman (right near there). I started jumping in Granbury at Eagle Flight, but I've jumped in Dallas a bit and have a lot of friends that jump up in Dallas. Some time you should come visit us at SD Aggieland. Hey, try to get your A by September and come jump at the AOT Boogie!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." MikeTJumps 4 #3 July 4, 2003 Yes, despite the actuarial calculations, I agree that all of the unknowns in driving on the roads far outweigh the risks involved in our sport. Any moron can get a driver's license, and for that matter, unlicensed uninsured drivers are rampant. One of my co-workers just got her car back from the shop after it had been hit by such a person. Camaros don't take well to being hit by things. This was the third time her car was wrecked by such a type. Now if she took up skydiving....she would have less risks in the air but the same amount on the ground!Mike Turoff Instructor Examiner, USPA Co-author of Parachuting, The Skydiver's Handbook

ZoneRat 0 #11 July 14, 2003 Oh yeah. He's addicted all right. I was around that day. You could see it in his eyes. btw: It would be very very cool Ron, if you can graduate AFF during the SkyFest boogie this weekend... I'd recommend bringing a tent... and a case or two of beer... Things will be happening that you'll not want to miss... We'll have one of the origional SCR members as master of ceremonies for the for what we hope will be the largest SCR ceremony in the world. (scr ceremony: http://www.scr-awards.com/). Balloon jumps. High alt jumps. Probably a few late night drunken ass pyramids as well. Try to talk Mandy into letting you do your grad jump out of the Casa... That would rock. Anyway, hope to see ya this weekend. ChefJoeR 0 #16 July 25, 2003 You know it is funny, I am more scared of getting hurt on the way to and from the dropzone than I am in the air with other jumpers.
