There are normally multiple people on a load and most DZ's (I think) check to ensure all made it back ok. If that's the norm, then I would land safely near the injured jumper. When they notice, and they should, then help would be on the way. There are many variables of course but generally, I would land near the jumper. I have Civilian CPR and military Combat Life Saver training, it might not be much, but the aid that I am able to give that person with in the first few minutes might be the most crucial. So if someone dosent have protective equipment they shouldn't help? I think it is usually human nature to want to help others, especially those in need. I would rather everyone have or have easy access to protective equipment. At the very least, I think most people know how to or have an idea of how to do CPR. I would rather someone try to save someone, while not risking their life, than to sit idley by and do nothing. At the least find a way to call 911... Would you as a skydiver want to know if the people you were jumping with had a disease, virus, etc that could be passed to you? I am talking about situtations where someone gets hurt and there is blood, or you have to do CPR and mouth to mouth. Some of these situtations could put you in a position to where you could catch what ever it is they have. Notwithstanding, we know you can wear medical gloves or a mouth piece for example to try to protect from certain things, but nothing is certain. So would you want to know? Just when you think you are doing pretty good for an above average rider... the dragon will tame you quickly... My first run I took some of the curves at 15mph... By the 3rd day I was hitting most at 30mph or higher, nothing like the pro's though... BTW... 30 or 35 is the speed limit on that road, though some riders go faster. I was not necessarily saying it was special. I was actually +/- 2 miles away from the DZ upon exit and tracked with the plane for 15 sec... So the "focus" was more on speed... ie: getting my ass back to the DZ.
