  1. My aunt is the queen of terrible gifts to me. Here are five years of bad gifts: #1 An umbrella #2 An umbrella again #3 Yet another umbrella (seriously. Other niece got a massage kit) #4 A screwdriver (other nieces and nephews got a $25 card to Borders) And this year (she gave it early) a beautiful Christmas box filled with very strange expired food. Some expired as long ago as 2003. She even said as I opened it, "I'm not sure how old some of this is." Why does she hate me?
  2. We said "Ragdolls!" (grew up in socal) Then another family taught us to call it Jello.
  3. Nope. They have done three of seven rounds. Guano is in 7th currently. According to this: http://www.worldmeet2006.com/scores/freefly.htm
  4. I am flying tomorrow on Southwest and even they are requiring no liquids and no gels including beverages, shampoo, lotions, creams, toothpaste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency. This is even for a flight from northern CA to southern CA. They say this about baby formula: Baby formula, breast milk, or juice if a baby or small child is traveling, are exceptions subject to inspection at the checkpoint. I would definitely check with whatever airline you are flying with even if it is a short in state flight.

  6. If I go by that I am Boom-Boom Margarita! It sounds like I have a Latin flair, and that I am possibly huge.
  7. Tansy is often recommended as an ant repellant but may only work on sugar type ants. These are the ones that you see on peonies and marching into the kitchen. Placing tansy clippings by the greenhouse door has kept them out. Deters flying insects, Japanese beetles, striped cucumber beetles, squash bugs, ants and mice. Tie up and hang a bunch of tansy leaves indoors as a fly repellent.
  8. A toe is not an organ. It's a digit.
  9. I couldn't find it on the American Boogie site. I think you just have to register when you get there. They do have one day registration for $15. The registration for the whole weekend is $40. It says: Full registration for the boogie is $40 for 4 days. Includes 2 dinners, beer and goodie bag. Current USPA membership and in date reserve required. New One Day Registration Pricing: DAILY REGISTRATION, $15 This is to accommodate those of you that can only make it out for one day of fun.It gives you access to our complete fleet of jump planes and a jet ride if you want. * Price does not include Beer, Dinner, or T-shirt.
  10. I backpacked alone through 9 countries in Europe when I was 22. It was easy there to meet people to travel with or talk to about recommendations. I didn't walk around at night alone but Iwas usually able to hook up with another traveller to hang out with.
  11. Counties visited in the order I visited them: USA Mexico Canada Japan England France Spain Italy Austria Switzerland Germany Belgium Netherlands Iceland Turkey (next week) Belize (in December)
  12. I live in Fairfield and jump in Davis at SkyDance SkyDiving.
  13. Thanks everyone for all the info. Deuce - I will be giving you a call.
  14. My middle name is Grace and many people call me Sarah Grace.
  15. No worries! We can both get advice.
  16. Oh! Deuce is a person. I totally thought that was some slang for "It is good if you get a realtor in your area." I thought that was kind of weird. I figured realtors mostly work in a specific area. Man, I am still shaking my head at myself.
  17. Thanks for all the advice. I am stressing a bit since this is such a major thing. I will probably go to a month-to-month rental agreement with my apartment so I don't have to rush anything.
  18. Anyone know how much insurance and taxes run on something around $250,000 - $300,000? I think I am going to go buy a Buying a Home for Dummies book today.
  19. I am looking at buying a condo in the near future. I am getting sick of throwing money away in rent when for a couple hundred bucks more a month I can buy. Any tips for a first-time home buyer?
  20. I am 26 and I can barely hear it.....AND I am a teacher. Good thing my first graders don't have cell phones. If I wasn't listening specifically for that sound while watching the little bar go across the screen, I would have just thought my ears were ringing or not even noticed at all.
  21. I didn't get laid off. I just get a summer vacation, winter break, spring break, etc every year. Plus, since my sick leave carries over each year, I think I when I start back in August I have 34 sick days saved up.
