  1. Just because he chooses to not share his jump history doesn't mean he doesn't have ANY jumps.
  2. I've found that what you do with the nose of the canopy is what will give you the best, on heading openings. I usually push the nose in about half way, or roll half and half into the center. Do your best to keep it neat.
  3. You should have spent the last 5 months of your milk money getting coached jumps, paying for a canopy course, renting and trying out different rigs. Instead, you got uber excited, begged grandma to foot the bill for a rig (that you don't even know you'll want when the time comes). Perhaps Brian Germain's canopy progression might help you: http://www.bigairsportz.com/pdf/bas-sizingchart.pdf You're not jumping your said rig until you are 90% confident? Why don't you jump that rig when you are 100% confident? And now you want to cross your fingers, pray to the gods, etc and just rely on luck instead of skill to get through this sport. Can you please tell us which DZ you jump so I can avoid it? You're obviously a hazard to yourself AND OTHERS if you go down this path. You opened this can of worms on yourself bro..not me Good observations, GK. My first gear was used, so I would have enough money to keep jumping regularly. Buying new gear, when you can't afford it, at this stage of the game is a totally bad decision. I can't believe his rigger and other people on the DZ didn't try to talk him out of it. smh
  4. With good reason. Everything in Australia is overpriced. I've heard what a liter of petrol costs there.
  5. Actually, I have to agree with your thoughts on the Cookie Fuel. I was concidering buying a G3, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $400 for a plastic helmet. No matter how cool it looks. All Cookie helmets seem to be way overpriced.
  6. Regarding the Cookie Fuel: ***Dat $Hi!'s $250?!!!?? LOL! Next time you have the inclination to burn some money please let me know and i'll gladly take it out of your hands. LOL!!!! What do i think? Ummmm, you got ripped off.
  7. Stick to a basic helmet until you get at least a hundred jumps under your belt. I started with a Protec and it worked great. By the time you're ready to jump a camera, there will be way better helmets available. Patience is the best lesson to learn in this dangerous and expensive sport.
  8. You have no idea how many threads -Joey- has trolled. Have fun defending a troll from people just looking for a little payback.
  9. Try the user manual. http://www.parasport.it/download/Altitron%20user%20manual.pdf
  10. I have the same helmet. It's not hard on my ears at all. I had to remove all the extra padding when I received it. Now it fits great.
  11. How hard is it to remove the Revolve with the face shield down? I don't see the need for a cutaway system if you don't have cameras mounted to your helmet.
  12. Any holes you cut in a helmet will degrade its strength and it could crack when you need it the most. I would ask the manufacturer.
  13. Good to hear it. Thanks for the update.
  14. Don't jump to conclusions! I learned that you make silly assumptions and give bad advice
  15. I'll add; make sure the cat's eye setting in the steering line is below the ring on the riser and when stowing the risers in the channels, make sure the toggles don't become loosened. That is, if you're packing for yourself. Sometime toggle fires just happen. You have to be prepared for that eventuality. Especially on a highly loaded canopy.
  16. Lighten up, spaz. It was a routine cutaway. He did everything the way he was supposed to. There's nothing more to learn from it.
  17. You think THAT'S scary? I suggest you don't EVER size down. Also, your friend needs a freefly friendly rig. Also........ BEER!
  18. My Revolve has the same field of view. ... AND dual audible pockets. The SkySystems C6AIR looks even COOLER than the G3. Can't wait for that one to come out.
  19. I don't see the big deal with G3s. I've tried one on and it didn't seem any different from any other full face helmet. People want them just because they look cool.
  20. Sorry to hear that Captain. I was a packer for six years and I jumped a Spectre for a short time. Pushing the nose in slightly always gave my customers and I nice openings. I tried leaving the nose out once and I felt the opening was too brisk. I like a nice snivel. I can't imagine a canopy opening putting someone out of commission for 3 months. I hope you don't have any permanent trauma as a result. Take care, Blue Skies
  21. I recommend pushing the nose half way in. Believe it or not, I've seen people land after being spanked hard on a Spectre. It's not a pretty picture. Don't forget the flare characteristics are different than a nine cell.
  22. Jumping a camera with only 111 jumps in 1 year?! Jesus Christ! I hope you don't kill anybody.
  23. Or just go to any other dropzone that doesn't panic their tandem students with unnecessary signs.
  24. Maybe we're talking about different people. Or maybe I'm just trippin'.
  25. Mike G. might be upset you misspelled his name. I always buy from ChutingStar, also. Good people. Good deals.
