  1. Haha... Now it shows up finally. I have had 3 chops. 1 was a step through from a packer, documented. 2 were questionable if it was body position or my packing skills...
  2. I changed from the Storm 150 (about 350 jumps) to a Skylark Skipper 160 (about 120 jumps) 18 months ago and have not regretted it. The glide is much better and brings me back from longer spots easily. Unlike most others here I was never really happy with the Storm's openings and flare. It was more fun to fly though.
  3. Yes. This needs to be discussed. 200 jumps, then FFC for wingsuit and off we go. The belly and freelfy rules for losing and approaching the base and formation apply also here. I just noticed this for myself and others.
  4. http://skyvideo.wordpress.com/2011/12/11/skydive-elsinore-wingsuit-school-video-guides/ Has some advice on instability recovery, in the middle of the post. Just wanted to add this here. And no, you have to be able to close your leg wing also on bigger suits.
  5. LOL! Robi would probably say: "Splendid, the more speed you have, the more safe you are. Speed is your friend". Although: With the current setup the glide is already fantastic.
  6. It means that you adjust your altitude relative to someone else by movement in your hip area. Or work with your butt cheeks ;)
  7. Seems to be an issue with the lens, focus. A lot in the GoPro Forums and a fix here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=26431859&postcount=446 I would wait....
  8. Problem solved! My respect for the Swedish not respecting American standard procedure and UPT being flexible!
  9. Cool! Have a great trip and please don't be the Austrian asking the packers to put your pilot chute into the BASE pouch of your V4 just because you plan to get in there soon and want to get used to deploy properly already. The mods will not like it ;)
  10. Dislike! That explains why Lodi's Facebook page just got back to me with: "too many friend requests pending..." Sad to hear this. It should encourage the more experienced wingsuiters to integrate newbies safely and unregulated professionally by all of us. I would hate to see a virus spread among DZOs now!
  11. Good solution IMHO. Much better than a ban. 200 jumps to start with WS is the minimum anyway. FFC is certainly recommended. Plus a specific DZ briefing for WS (they had that before, sticker on the rig just like in Elsinore). Lodi not being a USPA DZ being leading edge and pragmatic here! Thanks Bill.
  12. Nice!!! I like: - "Glide angle of 4,5" - "I pull at 2500ft, which is a very safe altitude as I don't jump a BASE rig" Now let's have the Pilatus Porters here in Switzerland upgraded with a "wing rack", just like our buses have ski racks. Wanted to add: Why debate about the Flysight mount (Velcro and/or tape do the job perfectly) and wingsuits with handles covered when this man does such a performance with all that stuff on his chest and controls done by bare hand and feet? Not to mention his age, and experience.... THIS perspective makes my weekend bright!
  13. Very good example of worst communication scenario here. Airtec, you really screwed up this one! There were 3 AAD manufacturers until recently, one dropped out. Two to go. I have read probably everything available since the bulletin yesterday but I still cannot stop to shake my head. Either you sold a not so reliable product for years and nobody knew or you did the worst communication and risk mitigation job I can only imagine... This was what the trust in your brand was built upon and we all invested money into it. It will never be like that from now on, no matter what you do! [email] I personally disagree here. If airtec does what they should and effectively recalls the aads to be fixed then im ok with that. and it will justify one of fhe main reasons i bought it.what i have a problem with is being stuck with a known defective product that should be guarenteed aginst just such defects. ..and this is a lot of my point too: I used to jump an Aerodyne Icon rig with Skyhook. One day two years ago I got a call from my rigger: Service bulletin, send it in or you are grounded. Which I did, mod done, paperwork done and nobody really cared at the DZs I jumped right afterwards. I sold it and hope that the new owner did not have any problems afterwards. Since AADs are mandatory at many DZs I wonder how they would check the "reset after every jump" of thousands of Cypres2 manufactured after 09 now. Not that I have considered my AAD as last resort at anytime, which you never should. My Neptune also shows "under canopy since 12500ft" usually when I do wingsuit jumps. The AAD is a reserve device we should not rely on, unlike the reserve parachute and EPs. However...

  15. Yes, you´re right. The Skyflash will receive an integrated, rocket driven, parachute system - This will be build in as soon as we are finished with the hovering tests. Those tests will not be much higher than 1m (3ft) so that a parachute cwould not be necessary until then. We are, at the moment, considering which system to choose. Take a Skywalk Tequila paraglider, controlled by a Spektrum DX 7 for landing and the spare LiIon Battery from the Dreamliner, good to go for 3ft ASL. And please give us the rocket driven reserve, taking us close to the moon from a shity situation below 2kft...
