  1. I was completely floored when I heard this news! I have worked with Egon and Piers for over 9 months and they were both truly remarkable people. Piers was just a wiz at anything he set his mind to, a genius amidst his chaos. Egon was a gem that was one of those rare people who understood everyone. Above all else I considered them both true friends, I enjoyed and learned from every moment I spent with both of them and will miss them dearly. Although I did not know him as well, I met Bruno through Egon and Piers and he was of the same quality and a blast to be with. Krystal I knew on a very limited basis but she was also someone who had so much to look forward to in life, extremely bright and determined. I am pretty sure they went to the Keys to look at a boat that Egon and Piers had been talking about. Egon mentioned last week that they were heading down there. It was their goal to sail around the world together and I still remember the joy in Egon’s smile when he spoke about it! I will miss all of your smiles. My condolences to all the families and the vast network of friends involved around the world! I am deeply saddened…and will miss the 24 Volt Marlboro Reds in 32 degree weather over a cup of Coffee in front of RWS at 8 AM while discussing industry politics and rig design. -dvg

    Block 2 exit

Yeah, the diagram throws me off a bit too. LOL. I should have just left the curved arrow out, cleverness got the better of me there. Throw the chest down following the sidebody cheater and take the knee up so that both rotate around your hips in opposite directions. Diagram that!!!! Later. -dvg

Alright, the PDF is now apparently attached. By now my "rookie" status on this site should be secured as a result of all of my errors. My sincere apologies for any legitimate confusion. Feel free to PM me with any questions. David van Greuningen DeLand Majik -dvg

  7. Would someone be so kind to define what a "Player Coach" team is in their mind? Compared to some of my "Colleagues" who pocket $500/day for their endeavors, I have never pocketed one penny for competing in the Advanced Class. I competed in Advanced in 2002 (Tunnel Vision - 25 Training Jumps) and 2004 (Jamba - 100 Training Jumps), both times with a group of friends that needed a fourth to compete. I jumped on these teams because I love to jump, want to do 4-Way, and had an opportunity to jump with my friends. Is it just because I have competed and succeeded in the open class that I am viewed as a "Player Coach"? Is it because I know more about 4-Way than my teammates that I am a "Player Coach"? Etc.... With respect to the spirit of competition, I am all for regulating the PC situation and I do not want to get into the debate about classifications at Nationals; I have my own views on that and don't think this is the forum to share those. But I am just curious because it appears that people are quick to label a team as a "PC Team" and as a result quickly overlook the abilities and efforts of the members of such a team. One person can not carry a team no matter how good they are (although 3 can carry 1) and a "Team" is always as good as it's "weakest link" and the "sum of it's parts". -dvg
  8. Hi Mel, how are you doing? By the time a I get to the mock up, I am done visualizing. I solidify everything during and immediately following a creeping session. Any doubts that remain after the creeping are settled through visualization immedialetly following a creep. From that point on, I give myself periodic "pop quizes" that test my reaction and understanding of the simple. They are spontanious, fast and short in duration. The ride up consists of focus and regurgitation of this quick and spontanious visualization. I usually have one very detailed period of visualization on the way up to altitude. I run the jump in slow motion while I focus on very fine details of the jump, this happens between 3K qnd 6K ft. When I get close to jump run, RE: 2 minutes out, I begin to activate a state of arousal that I have anchored through a set of triggers. These triggers consist of memories and visualizations composed of as many senses as possible and are designed to release me into the same state of consciousness every time. After that.......you have to put everything together and perform. Hope this helps, you know where to find me. -dvg -dvg

  10. I recommend that you watch as much video as possible from as many sources as you can find. Information is power and exposing yourself to a wide variety of skydiving will allow you to better define your path in the sport. -dvg
  11. Sky Van. You can sit comfortably and stand up to stretch the legs before exit.
