  1. Gloria Vanderbilt! I was the dork that had the corduroys pants in every color! My poor Dad! Always be kinder than you feel.
  2. Here's a picture of the sculpture description. Always be kinder than you feel.
  3. So who is holding it up while you are posting on Dizzy? Probably some idiot like me. Always be kinder than you feel.
  4. I've been here since mid-July. I've been in Margaritaville a couple of times since I've been here. Met Eddie the bartender at Sears Auto Center when I was getting my tire fixed a while ago. Always be kinder than you feel.
  5. Could you feel them circling? Did you see them to the left and to the right? Luckily, I wasn't the only bait in town. Seriously, the barracudas and sharks don't bother me. A friend caught a nice bull (not one of my favorites as they're less predictable from my experience diving) right off the swimming area of Fort Zach the other day. If the tourists only knew how close they are to the sharks I bet they'd freak. I like to mess with them and tell them when they're snorkeling. Am I the only one who saw the double entrendre? I didn't. Where?
  6. If you're considering Mexico I recommend Excellence Riviera Maya. I went in 2007 and always wanted to get back. Adults only, all inclusive, good food, good service, nice beach, nice clientele, very nice rooms with nice amenities, 24 hour all included room service. The excursions were plentiful although we didn't leave the resort save walking/running the beach. I want to go back NOW. Enjoy!! PS - Key West is nice any time of the year!

  8. Thanks, guys. It's the upper thigh/hip/butt chunk. I got really lazy last winter the first time I hurt my knee skiing in December. The pounds just piled on. The beach where the sculpture is placed is not much of a beach but it does have some interesting characters milling about. You have to go down some stairs to get to the water and wade out past some rocks and seagrass to the sandy bottom. I've seen barracuda and sharks sometimes swim by in the distance when I get to about waist deep. I spend many, many nights watching the sunsets on the pier next to the beach. Also many sunrises as this is where I end my morning runs to sit at the end of the pier and take sunrise pictures and try to gather my scattered thoughts. This place is very healing to me. Always be kinder than you feel.
  9. This is a concrete art sculpture on Higgs Beach. I've lost some weight since this picture was taken about a month or so ago so no chubby remarks please. Always be kinder than you feel.
  10. Everyone - Thank you so much for your input and advice. The WiFi at the house went tits up a couple of days or so after I posted this (rental house) and I just can't deal with websites on my cell unless it's an app. I'm sorry for the delay in acknowledging everyone's thoughtful replies. I think it's best to say I let this one go and let it drop. I'm sad and stressed over things in general but this too shall pass. Thanks again.
  11. Question for men: Do you "test" women?? I mean see what a women will "put up" with? One month you have behavior that's appalling and the women walks away. The next month your behavior is choir boy consistent, almost perfect, chivalrous and doesn't seem forced one iota. Like the previous month of head-meet-wall for me never happened. Like I never met you before and witnessed things that made me cringe. Yes, I've asked the person directly what the 180 is all about and they said they've done nothing different. Uh, ok. Opinions from you guys are very much appreciated. Always be kinder than you feel.
  12. You bought a scooter? Awesome!! I've had it for a year. This is the bike with the wornout tire I posted in Nat's thread. I'm changing the rear tire, (new tire is on balancing stand in the background). I've never done this before, and I think I could have been happy w/o ever having the experience. Some things I learned: - Buy a good bead-breaker no matter what it costs. - One pair of rim-guards is not enough. You need at least 3. - Sportbike tires are a sonofabitch about refusing to let their beads be pushed into the trough in the rim center. Anyone else read that and go perv? Always be kinder than you feel.
