If its a container and reserve, and the Manf. are still in business, I would make sure you have the manual, do a thorough inspection, check the D.O.M. on both, make up a new packing card and send it out. Same thing I would do if the existing card was filled up.

I have met many good packers who have very low jump numbers and even a few who have never jumped. Mostly it depends on how good the training they get from a rigger is. I can't remember the kids name, but he is 12 or 13 years old, his father owns a DZ and he could out-pack almost any jumper I know measured in skill, speed and accuracy. I have also met many good packers who pack so they can afford to jump and thus may have 1000 pack jobs and only 100 jumps.

i would sugest you try to be more aware of your body position when you deploy. Are you flat and stable? Are you stopping your track completely before deploying? I would also recommend what other have said about packing, especially how you stow the slider. It is too easy and convenient to blame the canopy. I had over 350 jumps on a Triathlon 150 and only experienced a few hard openings. I can assure you those few gad NOTHING to do with the canopy. More to do with me.

I have met and talked to Paul and Nancy several times over the last 5 years both at CSS and WFFC. If they are having financial problems, then I know where I'm going for the Easter Boogie. Paul and Nancy are 2 of the finest people in skydiving I have met. I would find it VERY hard to believe they would sacrifice a persons life for a buck. Please give them your support and jump at their DZ.

Agreed and as long as I find it interesting, I read it and although I may disagree with it I try to see and understand another point of view. When it comes to the same old tired out Bush Bashing, I ignore it just like I do some on this forum. You too are off the topic. This isn't another War Thread or Bush Bashing Thread. I would really appreciate hearing what they say about the flight characteristics of Aerodynes new canopys. I flying a Diablo 135 right now and am going to be considering a new canopy in the next few months. Have you had a chance to look at their new container? Comments?

The Talion web page was so over the top and slanted that I couldn't get past the first 5 paragraphs without scanning down the page and looking at some of the other articles before catagorizing it with Salon Magazine. As I started to read the Boston Globe article, I thought "the thread is being highjacked AGAIN by anti-Bush people". The thread is about the GWB ADMINISTRATION and their proven degree of intelligence which is demonstrated by College Degrees, not GWB personally. It's also about how the Hollywood Left is so easy to spew out hatred by calling the GWB "stupid, a moron etc when the truth is most of them have very little education. Certainly not as much as The GWB ADMINISTRATION. I have presented "FACTS" to back up that point. All I get in return is more "Bush is this, and Bush did that, and Bush isn't even an elected President yadda yadda yadda etc". Perhaps the reason the thread is being highjacked is those who are doing so have no arguement left. If thats the case, why don't you just let the thread die instead of continuing the Bush bashing. It really does diminish you in my eyes. Like any good Executive, Bush has surrounded himself with some of the most educated and experienced people in the areas of Foreign Policy etc to make up for whatever short comings he may or may not have. That is the sign of a good manager in the business world.

Wow ... you are REALLY putting words in my mouth ... yes, we know skydiving is dangerous, so to reduce the risk of death and/or injury, we wear a reserve. I am GLAD my government has legislated seat belt use, bike helmet use, and does not permit people to smoke in ANY work place. None of my personal freedoms are infringed upon. How can anyone claim that their lives are too restricted if they are required to use a seatbelt or a motorcycle helmet? You know, there comes a point where your demands for "freedom to choose" border on ridiculous. I do NOT favor legislating the use of an AAD beacuse VERY FEW lives are saved by these devices. Sealbelts, motorcycle helmets, and bike helmets save an ENORMUS number of lives. I support NON-SMOKING legfislation because cancers caused by second hand smoke kill LOTS of people. Now you are just being stoopid. And I don't live in a country under the control of your FAA So you are in favor of passing laws with no way to enforce them? I'm glad I live in a country that has an FAA that still believes in individual choice instead of a Socialist Society. One of the reasons we don't have the type of govt intervention like Canada does is because we have shown the ability to self-regulate. I'd rather live in that kind of a country.

The good deals are always out there. Buy what is suitable and safe for you to jump today. If you purchase a canopy too small. you will be afraid of it and will never learn to fly it properly. When you are injured, you may never fly again. Think about it.

My point, which is apparently being missed, (although not surprising) was to give a contrast of those who call the Bush Administration "stupid, morons and idiots". Perhaps a more Intelligent approach would be re-reading the entire post and understand its entire context. That might be more beneficial than choosing to key on one aspect and trying to find a single exception to that point.

I would say it's an indication. Not a lot of PHDs with a sub 100 I.Q. Not a lot of 140 + I.Q.s without at least some college. Always the exception, though.
