  1. I got my wedges and finally got out to jump it with a good fit. Thanks to bonehead for great service and getting me the wedges to make my helmet fit perfectly. I had the same problem with my protrack. It is getting pushed really hard against my ear. I have to cut the hole bigger or something. The only time I felt air leak under the chin is when I have to go into a stand and catch up to the fast fallers... Then there is just a little air coming in but nothing that bothers me. I used to have problems with my goggles when I went into a stand to catch up and would flip up. I am much more confident when jumping with this helmet on. Under canopy I can flip it open and feel the fresh air on my face. I can easily flip it back down if I feel like there is too much air...
  2. I jumped this helmet 5 times now and I love it! All 5 were sit-fly jumps. I imagine Sit Fly is the most challenging for a full face helmet since all the air comes from below. The REvolve did not dissapoint. I jumped with a heavier guy and I was in a stand a lot of the time going FAST! I think I will love this helmet even more when I get the wedges to make it more snug on my head. If only there were a mount for a GoPro... I will probably sell my GoPro and get the Contour now so I can fly a camera with this helmet.
  3. I got my REvolve yesterday and I am going to jump it today! Very Excited. My impressions so far... Built Great! When I got it the ratcheting mechanism was jammed into the top part and I couldn't get it down. I took most of it apart (thankfully a very simple process) and got it un jammed. I keep trying to recreate the situation but I haven't been able to. Just to be on the safe side I won't open it too hard to avoid this. I think it was a freak thing but I would hate to not be able to put it down as I am about to exit the plane... I have a narrow head and so there is some space on either side by the ears/jaws. Because of this it jiggles / shifts a bit on my head. I contacted bonehead last night and got a response this morning. (I am amazed at how fast I got a response. Didn't expect to hear anything on a saturday.) They have shims to help with the fit and will send them to me next week. What amazing service! The helmet does look a bit bulky but it looks a million times better than my pro-tec knock off that I have been using. I don't jump with my glasses but if I choose to the visor fits right over them with not problems at all. It sounds very quiet but I will know for sure when I jump it. Of course anything is more quiet than the Protec knock off I was using... even if I did put tape over the ears... I like it that you can see my whole face with the visor down. I think it is important to be able to see the jumper's face to get all the visual cues possible when jumping with others. I will post another review after I jump it today.
  4. My Helmet should arrive this friday. Can't wait to jump it this weekend!
  5. OOps... I meant LCD screen... I'm waiting for the LCD Bakpac... GoPro says they are coming out with an LCD screen you can attach to the back. I'm hoping to share footage after a jump with friends just like the other camera guys...
  6. I just ordered the REvolve and I am debating on selling my GoPro and buying the VHoldr. I want to keep the GoPro because they are supposed to come out witht the CLD attachment. (any idea when that will come out?) But I don't want to stop documenting my jumps because it won't fit my helmet... I am looking forward to your mounting solution.
  7. Any updates on the GoPro Mount? I'm going to order the Revolve but want to keep my GoPro...
  8. I emailed tony suits and they told me the suit is $650. Then when you are ready you can trade it in for a $400 credit.
  9. Hi everyone... and Joe's Mom... This is really great stuff... Keep it coming! I hope more people get in on the poll. I've been thinking hard about what I would get and I think, as the polls show, the best thing would be to get experience. Some Tunnel coaching and get some canopy coaching too. Also get that million feet (67 x 15k jump tickets) for $1000 at Hollister! What a deal if you can dish out the bucks up front... I am still working through the ones I bought a while ago... I think experience is the name of the game... AAD is a good idea too... I still have 11 years on my cypress... so I am good for a while... Still want to hear your opinions and what you would do... Keep them coming! Dean
  10. I'm gonna sell my motorcycle and I should get at least $1500 for it. I plan to put that money towards some new gear for myself. I have just over 100 jumps and have my own gear. My current gear - - Javelin container (DOM '93) resized and custom fitted for me by a master rigger. - Sabre 150 (just downsized from 170) and loving it. - Brand New Custom Jumpsuit from Go Crazy! - I have a Protech style helmet. - Protrack - Alti-2 analog wrist altimiter I really don't need anything at this point to enjoy skydiving. To continue I just need jump tickets... BUT everything I have is used (except the jump suite) is used and something new and shiny would be cool... At my jump numbers camera may not be a smart thing to do. I always hear that 200 jumps would be the recommended time to get into it but I am pretty confident in flying safe... I wouldn't mind getting a helmet that looks better than the pro-tech style and can continue to be a camera helmet when I am ready to add on the camera. I have tamed the openings of my Sabre pretty good and enjoy flying it. I don't know if I have reached that size that I would want to settle on since I just downsized. But a new, or newer non-sabre 1, would be nice... My container fits the best it can. Its kind of old but has been custom fitted to me. A new Infinity with articulated harness and floating laterals would be a much more comfortable set up... I really don't need to buy anything so maybe I should just put it towards jump tickets... I don't know what to do... What to you think?
  11. I just got my suit and got to fly it this weekend. It was amazing what a proper suit does for you. Also getting the look I wanted was great! She will do any design you want. I liked some designs from other manufacturers and incorporated into what I wanted and they had no problems making it look that way. Terrie has many years of experience in building suits and knows how to make it for what you are looking to do. I am just getting into freeflying so I want a freefly suit but also still do some RW so I got the flat grips added. With my body type and weight I need to go faster so she made it tight on the body and just enough drag on the legs and arms for control. The suit comes with some of the extras like a pocket and velcro leg cuffs standard at no extra cost. The price was great too. Base price is $200. I got grips so add $20. Shipping was $30 to USA (they are located in Canada). $12 export tax... The whole thing came out to $252 delivered! That is a great deal for a custom suit. The same suit from another manufacturer would have cost me over $300. Maybe $50 isn't much savings but with great service and response it's a great deal.
  12. Thanks Ronaldo! These helmets look really nice. I don't know what the difference is between carbon fiber and fiberglass...
  13. I just did my 100th jump a couple weekends ago and I have been thinking about a tattoo for the last 75 jumps... Im going to get the shape of a closing pin on the inside of my arm. Just a small one that won't really show. Just a little something for myself... I figure that I have done 100 so I must be really into the sport...
  14. I found this posting in the classifieds and I really like the helmet but it's not my size. The manufacturer is called Skyline and I have never heard of them. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=81309&d=1 Does anyone know where I can find a dealer or a manfacturer website? I searched on google but can't find anything on it...
  15. I found one of these for sale: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=81309&d=1 and wondered if anyone knows about these... I think it looks like a great helmet but I can't find a site for the company or a store that sells them... The one in the classifieds is a small... I need a large... Anyone have info on this company?
