  6. Peter Gibbons: What would you do if you had a million dollars? Lawrence: I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two chicks at the same time, man. Peter Gibbons: That's it? If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time? Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; 'cause chicks dig dudes with money. Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks. Lawrence: Well, the type of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do. Peter Gibbons: Good point. - Neil Never make assumptions! That harmless rectangle could be two triangles having sex ...

  8. alone? dont your instructors count? LOL ... + when you are the only one on the plane the ride to altitude goes by quite quickly, and you'll have the landing area all to yourself. I did all of my AFF during the week when there was hardly anyone at the DZ. still a blast ... - Neil Never make assumptions! That harmless rectangle could be two triangles having sex ...
  9. I had every intention to stand it up on my very first jump, but that didnt happen. for my first 2 jumps I came in feet spread apart x-man style and slide it in ass first. even though they were relatively soft landing I was given a stern warning not to come in on my ass and told to come in ready to PLF or risk breaking something. I didnt fully understand the magnitude of a PLF but since folks more knowledgeable and experienced than myself were emphasizing PLF, I thought it might be prudent to listen, specially in a sport where mistakes hurt like a mofo. Lo and behold a few jumps later I flare way too high (more then once) and just pound into the ground. I knew it was going to hurt as soon as I did it, I also realized there's no way out of it now, all I could do was hold the flare and PLF, I was ecstatic when I stood up and realized nothing was broken ... - Neil Never make assumptions! 10. listen to your instructors, if you have any questions, ASK your instructors. and finally, PLF !!! I used to do em off the coffee table in the living room ... - Neil Never make assumptions! That harmless rectangle could be two triangles having sex ...
  11. I dont mind sitting next to the door, I dont even mind sticking my head out to spot or just check out the view but I feel quite jittery when we are at the lower altitudes, I get calmer the higher up we get, but even at higher altitudes I am nervous when the door is closed. I get a little relief when they call 'door' but even then if I am not one of the first ones out, I feel like I am gonna pull a "George Costanza" on everyone to get out of the plane. But in general sitting in that plane is a little uneasy feeling for me. and slightly boring. - Neil Never make assumptions! That harmless rectangle could be two triangles having sex ...
  12. PLF's are nowhere near antique as you think, save my legs on a couple of my AFF landings ... hurt like a beech but nothing was broken ... - Neil Never make assumptions! That harmless rectangle could be two triangles having sex ...

  14. me too ... I accompanied a friend of mine (fresh off AFF) my first time at the DZ just to hang out and watch but after watching all the people falling out of the sky and hearing the furious flutter of the canopies I knew that once I start I wont be able to stop. I planned to save up for the entire A license package but it took me a long time to just save up for my entire AFF package, that I decided to just start AFF and will figure out how to fund post AFF later ... With regards to Tandem jumpers, I love talking to the folks that come through the DZ. their enthusiasm and novel outlook on jumping seem to just seep into my day and make jumping even more fun. I've been yelled out and even pushed out of the plane and both have been quite memorable jumps LOL ... - Neil Never make assumptions! That harmless rectangle could be two triangles having sex ...
  15. hey broke ppl gotta jump too you know. Actually with the money I paid for tuition this semester I could have gotten a brand new custom rig, all the shiny new gear I wanted and jumped to my hearts content but alas reality is squatting on all that LOL ... - Neil Never make assumptions! 16. sweet idea dude, do you know of any other alternative to the entire jumpsuit? like some sort of overalls or something? - Neil Never make assumptions! That harmless rectangle could be two triangles having sex ...

  20. dont forget how to pack ... I have already forgotten. I only remembered it long enough to get it signed off my A card but being a bum I really need to start packing for myself. and I would think that being nervous jumping your own pack job for the first time is natural, I was nervous as hell jumping my own pack job but no one at the DZ would sign off until I jumped it, I pulled a lil higher then normal expecting the worst but it was an amazing feeling having your first pack job open LOL ... a snivel with a slight harder than regular opening shock with a very slight off heading opening, just perfect lol ... - Neil Never make assumptions! 23. As you can see there are different schools of thought. I personally enjoy and open face helmet because I love the rush of wind in my face others like the quietness of fullface. The one thing that I don't think has been mentioned in this thread is the fact that skydiving helmets are not really good for much. Yeah, they can help if you catch a foot in the face and for those minor impacts they work fine but you pay alot of money for very little real protection. Next time you are at the DZ have a look at these helmets and you will see a lack of impact/crush foam. This is what protects your brain when you take a real hit. Skydiving helmets tend to provide a false sense of security because very few people realize these "helmets" are built to no crash standard whatsoever. Hit the ground hard and almost all the energy will be transferred to your head via the helmet shell. For less money than most skydiving helmets you can get real protection and if need be still look cool at the DZ. My open face is similar to this... http://www.giro.com/en-us/products/snow-helmets/streif/ It is a ski helmet that is very comfortable and I use it for skydiving, skiing and BASE. If you wore it all day it would be warm but for 2 or 3 minutes at a time you will never notice. If you are looking for a fullface look to the European manufacturers. Helmets designed for airsports over there must meet CE EN 966 standards so you know you are at least getting some REAL protection. Here is a sweet fullface.... http://willswing.com/prod2.asp?theClass=helmet&theModel=NoLimit and more lids here... http://www.flyaboveall.com/wwcharly.htm and one more http://www.apcoaviation.com/products/5/5accessories.html. Helmets should protect our brains and not just from a bump that may have resulted in a fat lip. Welcome to the sky! Have fun and be safe.......... 25. i'm still not sure what kind of helmet i want, i need to make alot more jumps to figure that out before i invest in something. if you are going for a open face helmet you might as well get the Protec full cut which is actually rated for impact, or Square 1's Brand X Skydiving Helmet ($28 shipped on ebay). It should hold you over till you know more on which helmet all the cool kids get ... PS: I rather spend my cash on lift tickets ... cheers - Neil Never make assumptions!
