  1. This happened to me down in sebastian earlier this year. After talking to some very experienced canopy pilots, the best guess is wake turbulence. The canopy in front of me however is pretty far, even for a go pro video, and we are on our downwind leg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9hx7-s5Bu8 attached is a screen shot
  2. Miami Skydiving Center is a Tandem Factory based at Tamiami Airport. They jump a 182. I have never jumped there but from what I hear the landing area is not great and a pretty far van ride away from the airport. The dropzone everyone is talking about is http://www.skydivemiami.com They are located about 30 mins south of Tamiami at the Homestead Airport. They fly a caravan and have a nice landing area near the dz. They do a lot of tandems, but they have a very friendly staff, are very safe, and there are usually plenty of fun jumpers to jump with on the weekends! I have jumped there many times and would suggest it if you are in the area! -Will -edit- turns out I don't know how to make it clicky
  3. more like having sex indoors vs. having sex outdoors
  4. I had a fun little falling off the step or in my case wheel experience about a month ago. Fell off the wheel of a 182 that didn't have a step and the pilot forgot to put the brakes on! Fortunately i was able to hang on to the strut. Not the most comfortable way to spend climb out but managed to hang on long enough for them to get out and still get a good exit shot! Made for a funny video if you know what your looking at, I'm sure the tandem didn't even notice
  5. Then vote for them! You can vote for anyone you want! But seriously...Team Bust A Nut is the one to go with!
  6. OOHH we have some bikini girls! They just weren't there for the picture. Come to the flugtag and you will see!

  8. Votes are for peoples choice award! The flying machines are judged on many aspects and number of votes is one of them. The glider on top separates from the tree and flies away to victory!

  10. We used a go pro with the motorsports suction cup mount just for fun. Worked great. only problem is you need to have someone either turn it on while on the ground, or get out and turn it on while on jump run. And the same with turning it off.
  11. I called century and they sent me the 30-37 for free! I also bought a 30-43 on ebay but it is actually wider with the two step up rings.
  12. Ya mine fell from less than 2ft, but on to concrete. My century .5 rolled away with the lens mount attached to it. Fortunately nothing else happened to the camera or lens. I'm definitely happy I bought sony's accidental damage warranty, they are fixing it. Not sure if a plastic step up ring would have saved it though. It didn't even seem to hit that hard. Here is a pic of the aftermath...
  13. Wow thats insane! After a little youtubing I found out that the guys name is ferdi fische and the jump is from a 115 ft cliff. Here another video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcO-pDwzgmk He also recently broke his record by doing it from a 150ft cliff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrk0ZJ_mmDc Will
  14. Hey I actually just emailed Cookie Composites to find out when the padlock was coming out. They said the padlock will be released with the Atomic helmet before next season. Not to specific, but figured I would pass it along. Will
  15. Thanks! I will definitely be interested in one if I go with the nikon. As for the af motor From what I can find online, it seems, only the higher-end Nikons have motors. So not all lenses for nikons have the motor built in. And with the Canon's non of them have a motor built in. So all of the lenses built for Canons, that have autofocus, have it built into the lens. Is this right? Also it seems most of the new lenses have the AF built in. Also other than the switch, I know the T1i looks good on paper, but the Nikon seems to do better in the tests. Would you say the canon is just better for skydiving, or overall? Thanks, Will
