  1. Maybe that's why. At least I'm not alone in this (thanks for sharing your experience, Dave). I just don't wanna seem like a dick when I reply to his message--"dude, I remember you, but I don't..." 2. So, I have another friend from high school that found me on Facebook; I haven't seen this guy in at least 10 years. At first, the name in the e-mail friend request didn't ring any bells, but as soon as I saw the picture I remembered that I know him....the thing is I don't remember anything. I know I know him, and I recognize him, but that's it.... has such memory loss ever happened to you? Is this sort of memory loss even normal? I feel shocked to say the least. 4. ya'll got me typing a lot ; my fingers hurt. Can we just do a conference call instead? Chris, the reason I responded with such a long post and PM was because I don't know what to make of your somewhat harsh statements. All I wanted to do was share what I believe and why I believe it. I'm not some religious nut or bigot that some may perceive me to be I'm not better than anyone of you; I didn't mean to come across as judgmental. As I said in above posts, I regret how I said some things. I'm just trying to live life in clear conscience trying to help, love, and have some positive in the lives of others. Billvon & Skybytch- you bring up good points; I enjoy constructive discussions such as this and look forward to continuing. Please allow me some time for reflection. 7. What is that supposed to mean? I just told you as bluntly as I could how I feel about your profession & the people that seek such things out as customers. What more do you want? ralffers, about 65yrs ago, a nation decided what was moral and which subjects were worth living and took care of the others. now, i dont want to have a go at you or your handicap; but sure as hell, you would of being stamped as un-natural and send to the chambers. that is what happens when people try to force their morals, as sick and twisted as theirs, or as pure and innocent as yours are, on others.. quick question: what do you think of homosexuals!? should they also not be allowed to live their lifestyle!? what do you think should be done with them? just because there's a majority of heteros and a minority of homos? now imagine being an sm-loving homo.. u get the idea maybe.. now, being a liberal, i think everyone should do as they please, as long as no-one gets hurt in the process and it's consenting. what do you care if some guy wants his balls busted, and is even willing to pay good money for it!? jeesus, if i could earn money that easily, why not do it!? and its obvious those services are looked for. now, instead of being "moral" dipshits, people should start talking about their fantasies. i think many marriages would of been saved that way, or people wouldnt have gotten married in the first place. there are pots and kettles of many sizes and shapes.. and u write a lot of stuff like those statements on this and other threads. fucking get out of your VERY little world and widen your horizon! i have many gay and lesbian friends, BDSM-people, even a bisexual sub! (ouh, and that girl was fun to play with, i learned a thing or two there.. ) I didn't respond to your post - because I didn't see it...sorry Chris, I'm not going to try to change your mind. If you don't like me because I have values and convictions that's fine, but it seems like a pretty foolish reason not to like someone. Am I imposing my way of life on anyone? No. I'm voicing my opinion like anyone else here, the only difference is I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. It's pretty easy to get along with someone when you agree on everything - but you suddenly don't like me because we don't agree on something? That says a lot more about you than it does about me and any statements I've made. In terms of your example, of people like me being sent to the chambers. It did indeed happen - do I agree with it? No, of course not Just like no one else does, about that, the holocaust, or any other wars or atrocities man has inflicted on one another. In terms of homosexuality and the alike - yes, frankly I do think it's wrong, but does that mean I wont socialize with such people, not count them as friends or mistreat them? No, again, of course not! It's not my place to judge anyone, only God can do that. If I can take anything back, it wouldn't be what I said, but how i said it (it came out judgmental - that's not how I meant it; I'm just trying to get people to think). As is the case with most skydivers, I'm guessing you don't believe in God. That's cool, I was once an atheist also. But think about it - if there is a God, than what do you think is the reasons behind all these "rules" are? - rules pertaining to homosexuality, divorce, sexual promiscuity, etc, etc... Do you think it's because those guidelines for living are in place to annoy us - or perhaps could there be a more practical reason?... Lets take the case of homosexuality and sexual promiscuity; both are direct cause of disease running rampant In the case of sexual relations alone - people simply put too much stock into that being the definition of love...but let me ask you....how many times did you fall in love with a girl, eventually sleep with her, thought she loved you, only to have your heart broken in the end? Didn't feel good, did it? Similar reasoning with divorce. Look at all the heartache it causes amidst broken families and such. Seems like a pretty good reason to be against it to me. Are you starting to see the bigger picture? God gives a guidebook on how to live life happily and make the most of it. So than the next question is - how do we know that God is real? It's more a matter of faith I suppose, but from a logical standpoint, I think it's a fair assumption to say that there is a God just by looking at everything around us. I think it takes a lot more faith to believe that the world as we know it came into being by mere chance mutation of cells rather than to just believe there is a creator. So then the next question is - how can you trust any one religion? How can you trust the bible? There are is a ton of evidence that the bible is true - from historical, to archeological. Prophecy is perhaps the strongest argument for the bible. The Old and New Testaments were written 2,000 years apart from each other (proven byway of carbon dating), and yet, you have an accurate, to the letter type description of Christ's crucifixion - 2000 years before it happened in the Old testament book of Isiah. Note: crucifixion wasn't even a known, let alone used form of corporal punishment at the time the Old Testament was written. In fact, if we wanted to debunk the bible on the basis of inaccuracy, then we'd also have to throw out all of Western philosophy that society is based on, as well as any other book of ancient antiquity. There are over 1 billion Christians in the world today, people from all walks of life; lawyers, doctors, scientists, Nobel prize winners. - have all these people, of such a high caliber thrown out their reason and rationale? Next, lets examine the authenticity of Jesus Christ; after all, there were many religions all throughout the history of mankind, and it remains so to this day. What makes Christianity so different? Ask any religious person if the founder their religion rise from the dead and they will tell you no. No other person has ever risen from the dead and conquered death. Although we can't go back in time and see it ourselves - but - from the many accounts written throughout the Gospels; the witness accounts totaling over 500 people we can conclude that such an event did take place. Moreover, many early Christian, including 11 of the 12 Apostles were subjected to a violent death for their faith; hanging, decapitation crucifixion and the alike. People don't give up their lives for something trivial they don't believe in. Furthermore, why the controversy, even to this day? Why are people being killed for their faith? You hear about people of other faiths killing themselves for their beliefs, but why are Christians being killed by others. Jesus taught to: "love God and your neighbor as yourself". What's so controversial about that? Why are people being locked away for 15-20 years, and sometimes even life for preaching the Gospel in countries like the Philippines and Africa? Why is it you can talk about any religion, and any "god", but as soon as you say "Jesus Christ" everyone gets all bent out of shape? Is it just a coincidence, or is the something much bigger at work trying to keep people from coming to faith? A philosopher (not a Christian) once said that it's better to believe in God, rather than take the chancre of not and facing the consequences. If the basis of Christianity is not true, than none of us have anything to worry about, but if it is true then there quite literally will be hell to pay. Which brings me to my next point; the age-old question - "why would a good God send anyone to hell?" The thing is, no one is good...the bible reads: "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." It goes onto read: "for the wages of sin is death". Still other parts read: "be holy as I am holy" to attain eternal life. God demands perfection, to Him, sin is sin; there's no difference between murder and stealing a candy bar from a store. That's why Christ had to die; He died in our place. Every old Testament sacrifice that was every preformed was a symbol of the one ultimate sacrifice to come; God incarnate, who lived a sinless life to die in our place so that we may have life in His name. It's a free gift, available to anyone. "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Have you ever read the bible, or just dismissed it without ever checking it out? I encourage you to read the Gospel of John & the book of Romans. You may have the same conclusions afterward, or you may not; in either case what can it hurt, right? Look, I can't speak for the actions and hypocrisy of others; I've had to eat humble pie as well and admit that I was wrong, and even a hypocrite at times; I'm not perfect. But if sharing the truth of God and loving people as God loves makes me a bad person, than so be it. I don't care for popularity contests. 9. Well, that just PISSED ME OFF! I got tired of having to do the: "words in a box verification" thing every time I was sending messages to people I knew, and thus wanted to get in touch with, but since they weren't my friends yet I had to do the account verification thing to make sure I'm a real person. So I provided my mobile number so I could verify my account through the code provided in a text message. What pissed me off is the next thing I know, my cell pfone number is posted in my profile! 10. I can totally see how & why you would feel that way, anyone would really. If you think about it though, anything & everything is repetitive in nature... Why ski down a mountain, swim in a pool or lake, rock climb etc, etc.... You're only doing the same things over and over. We do things again and again, obviously because we enjoy whatever activity it happens to be. I hope you never run across such an ignorantly outspoken whuffo, but if you do, the above statement is good point to make; should shut them up real quick Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

  15. What? I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that expression. Edited to add: What I'm saying is there needs to be a moral standard; people don't even know what the word means anymore and have lost sight of their convictions. 16. Social stigmas? It's not that at all; it's much deeper than that. Society, as a whole has lost its sense of morals - "everything is alright as long as it pleases me" There is no sense of right & wrong. Everything is so subjective And it's not just this that's an example....just look at movies, music, the media - anywhere really. The sad part is, everyone's so passive no one cares to notice how society is degrading itself. I don't really care what is collected on me; if it's a marketer trying to sell me something i can always just ignore them.
