  1. Totally & wholeheartedly agreed... those that supported the recall for the most part, didn't want to sacrifice ( lose) what the majority either didn't have or had already lost...
  2. I'm so far from rich, far from Republican & a retired Union employee...but Walker got my vote ! Despite the cost of campaigning for his re-election, it cost us Wisconsin taxpayors & citizens much more in the recall process. His actions resulting in the recall are Wisconsin's savings grace, to the People as a whole ! Though I respect & appreciate our State's Emergency Service Employees & their entitlement of benefits, too many other State Employees Collective Bargaining Rights per Union contracts, resulted in gross abuse of all taxpayors. It was way overdue; someone took a stand & acted for the majority of the People, regardless of his Party. It would be nice if our Nation acted in the best of interest of us all, to say the least
  3. Yesterday the DA withdrew from the case & called in an outside special prosecutor to take over after I went into his office. I explained if he had any plans to dismiss charges, &/ or due to an obvious conflict of interest, I would be contacting state power heads ( govenor - attorney general, if need be) & media...took care of that
  4. As of now, per the internet public court access system, the case is still pending. However, I plan to contact the Victim-Witness Program affliated with County Court System ( DA's Office ) 1st thing tomorrow a.m. to inquire why the DA is seeking dismissal. Depending on the information I get, will determine taking advice in contacting the media. I also plan to get in touch with WI. Governor Walker's liasons, as a County DA is an elected official. As Walker's past actions involving abuse of positions in State offices & passing of bills; causing an over haul of many public offices & agencies, in efforts to prove he is for the PEOPLE... has led to his recall election, forthcoming. I'm hoping his office may assist, or at least make inquiries. He'll get my vote regardless ! Thanks for the advice
  5. Thanks for the thought...excellent idea, especially with re-elections for office is coming up ! Our point in buying / building here was to re treat from social idiocy, but obviously that's not an option since this can full of slippery worms have crawled out...so may as well light 'em up
  6. UPDATE: The wheels on the judicial sytem's "short" bus go 'round & 'round ... Criminal case has been postponed 4 times, with next date for hearing scheduled for June 28th. We are not a party to the case other then victim-witness, so know need for attorney representation. A lot of evidence proving the DA's case, as well as, our civil case is very sound & substantiating towards the offender ( douche bag ). Obviously civil cases take a long time, a lot of $, etc., so a guilty finding in the criminal case would be excellent. Last week my attorney contacted me stating he received a letter from the DA seeking "his clients" (us) request to have criminal case & charges dismissed ...as we seem to have a strong civil case !!! We have learned the Assistant DA is in full time practice at her dad's law firm, who is representing douche bag in our civil action. It has also been discovered douche bag's father in law is a Township Supervisor here & was indicated as party to the clear cutting of our land in his "Answers & Affirmatives & Interrogatories" submitted in our case & to the DA's Office. Obviously there is a major conflict of interest ! I was was wondering if any of you legal gurus out there know if there is any possibility in heading the DA off, from dismissing the criminal action...such as going over his head ? I am concerned with the connections, back woods affiliations, atty fees @ $ 255.hr -v- length of time... douche bag is a 2nd grade school teacher & we're just crazy skydivers...any outcome won't be just ! * Side Note: The douche bag per his attorney offered to buy us out for what we originally paid just for the land 8 months ago. His words were " to make this all go away" !!! Our out of pocket costs & investing over $20 k. in our cabin w/ basement, so far...plus @ 7k in atty/ fees to date, was not included in his offer
  7. If you're going to have it parked for any length of time, put steel wool in all outside hook up & vent compartments to keep critters out ! Also, if you're on the road quite a bit & don't want to continue to empty the 'facilities' at a pumping station... spend > $20 on a porta potty w/ appropriate bag liners & toilet seat cover. The bags have a chemical lining that traps odors fairly well & are very durable. Available at camping / sporting stores or any Walmart, F& F, Menards, etc. It's so much more convenient & less likely to have the toilet smell from the holding tank. You just Go & Throw I'd also advise "rubbermaid" type bins to store as much as you can under beds, etc. Keeps sky gear harm free & clothes more organized. Regardless, the size & depending on how much you'll use it...they always seem to fill up with "gotta have " & comforts of home, necessities ! I've done a fairly long stint ( 10 months) living at a WI. DZ living in a 12'...I loved it til winter started setting in & water main was turned off . We now have a 24' we'll be "living" in next spring til we get our cabin in the woods completed...2 adults & a large dog ...also while working as full time DZ Staff ! Good grief...what am I thinking ? Happy Trails
  8. I've bounced around on this. At the initial time of damages & law enforcement involvement, the "lumberjack" advised the law he was interested in resolving with us personally, without charges. There is more than enough evidence to find him guilty, per his admissions to the sherfiff's deputy & myself. ( i.e, incident report, our & sheriff's photos, video, & neighbor's eye witness accounts ) I was open to an amicable total restitution, but after 8 weeks of the guy not returning my 4 phone calls to do so, I decided to go for the juglar. I was fine with the "unauthorized timber theft" charge, because it would be beneficial in a civil case...until his plea of Not Guilty. I've now requested the DA to seek other charges to include intentional timber theft & destruction of property, criminal trespass & unlawfull removal of survey markers & boundary barriers. All of which are felonies & can include enormous fines & jail time, plus restitution. Initially I didn't want to send him to jail, cause him possible employment & other personal conflicts, but if he is so pompous as to file this plea, & obvious refusal to resolve without court action...then game on. It is now going to drag out & cause us incurred expenses with up front, out of pocket costs for the attorney, we would not otherwise have needed to do, had he just made a phone call. Professional services who did an on sight walk through have determined several $k just in the loss of trees, plus loss of forest floor vegetation, etc.
  9. Update: The DA filed & sheriff's cited: Timber Theft charges...finally! Court preliminary hearing is set for Jan 9th Dude filed a written plea: NOT Guilty Here we go....
  10. I know what you mean... My mom made so many sentimental gifts for me & my 9 siblings & her 52 grandkids & great grandkids, over the years...including stockings. Though my stocking & other treasured items she made were lost in a flood here in Fond du Lac 3 years ago, I do still have quite a few momentos left. They mean so much more to me now that she's gone & I now have them all displayed throughout my house. I understand why she took so much time & effort in making them...they keep her close in my heart, as I look over each one & imagine her fingers, intent & emotions while making each one...adding to the legacy she left with us all! I now try to pass on her traditions by ( my husband & I) making most all gifts for my son's, their wive's & my 3 grandkids, & for his family for birthdays & Christmas.
  11. I give my grandkids one every year for Thanksgiving...to start off their Holiday excitement ! I remember experiencing one for the 1st time in my 2nd grade homeroom class...just a few days after JFK's assassination No doubt, a teacher would be fired these days. if one was brought into a class room & the meaning explained, but fondly remembered & enjoyed the meaning enough to make it a tradition for my son's each year as they grew up & now passed it on to my grandchildren ! They look forward to, & expect it each Thanksgiving
  12. I'm sorry to hear of your loss of your grandmother ! Handmade special gifts from special people are so treasured...no doubt more so now, for you! May you have peace & a wonderful Holiday Season remembering her !

You Cougar! -------------------------------------------------------- Daunting story about that, Jim... I met Brad the 1st night I started bartending at the Dug Out in Omro 10/03/06. ( I was a Nurse by day ) He told me he was a skydiver, I told him he was nuts. He didn't come in the next night, but did the 3rd. We hooked up & 11 days later I did my 1st jump, a tandem & reserve ride! A month into our relationship, we were listening to a song & I said " cool song, I was a Junior in high school when that came out...in '74" He looked at me & said " how the hell old are you?" I said " I'll be 50 in a few weeks, why, how old are you?" He said " that's the year I was born...I just turned 32" We've been together every day since & married now 1-1/2 years ! Apparently the age factor isn't a big deal for us...it keeps my life challenging & fun
  14. ... maybe they misread the chemical compounds left in the tie ! I wonder if they ran it for cryptonite & if Auntie's (LB) maiden name was Lange?
  15. Watching the morning news this morning ... evidently new developments in the DB Cooper "whodunnit" case. 40 years later & forensic testing of a tie left in the plane, speculated to be DB Cooper's, show results of titanium particles. This now narrows the search of possible identity in the caper. It was reported someone employed in a titanium plant 40 years ago more likely than not, is the culprit ! Also, FBI is investigating leads by 2 nieces who have stepped forward stating they feel their Uncle "LB" ( Albie) may be the real DB Cooper

55...sons all grown & married & their kids: 2 teenagers, 1 almost 10. It's the best time of my life I've been HD riding 16 years & jumping... going on 6. I'll continue both as long as I can swing a leg over & crouch in the door !
  17. but you know ... "the midwest farmers daughters really make you feel alright ... & the northern girls the way they kiss, they keep their boyfriends warm at night..." not all us wish we could be california girls, though I do enjoy a year 'round tan ! I guess it's just a matter of geographic"gal" preference
  18. Oh my Now I don't feel so bad about having my shoulder tat recently redone... She's a year older then I am...but damn sure is holding up better then I
  19. ...never did like Barbie, anyway She's way too prissy

  21. Your more than welcome anytime...just to tent it & enjoy the area. We will keep in touch & give you the personal info. as to where it's located
  22. ------------------------------------------------- That drum set thing back fired on me. My grandson wanted some so Brad & gave him some bongos for Christmas a few years ago. When they packed up to leave, my son told my grandson it'd be a good idea to leave them at our house so he them to play when ever they come up, since we didn't have many toys for him ! My grandson thought that was a GREAT idea & any treats I sent home with them were returned as treats when I was to babysit At least I didn't raise a dummy...he has a subltly innocent way of heading things off at the pass, & pursuasive retaliation
  23. Nothing remained the same & everything was altered...wish I had those days back. There is something to be said about grandparenting, that unfortunately I wish I had going on with my sons as they grew up. Every mistake I made as a parent, I've hoped to have rectified as a grandparent... not the "I can spoil them rotten & then send back home to their parents"... more like penance & apologies to my sons. Keep in mind the song: " Cats in The Cradle " while raising yours....it strikes home to most parents, I'm sure. So make sure you cherish every moment...even the hair pulling, I can't wait til they grow up times ! When they do, you'll wish you never had those thoughts ! Keep in mind what their futures hold given the daze around us... you will be their only consistent security Now that the grandkids are growing up & more independent, I'm finding myself going through the empty nest syndrome I had when my son's became independent. Even though they are 200 miles away & I only see them 1x/ month... my 2-3x/week phone calls to them are getting shorter
