  1. I'm sure I'm in the wrong place for this but figured I have to start somewhere. I'm looking to get back into jumping and need a rig, but I would like to trade my Harley for one if at all possible. Looking for a 240 main (I'm a big guy) not to particular on brand for any part would like to stay around the blue and/or red color. I have a 97 ultra classic, if interested let me know, or if this isn't allowed just delete thank you.
  2. Yeah i was thinking buil right into the visor. i know it would be expensive and probably not very practical, but i would like it lol. maybe some day in the future when we have flying cars and jet packs like the Jetsons.
  3. So here i sit in Iraq with little to nothing to do since im coming home soon, and i got to thinking (scary huh) would it be possible to have an on-visor alt display? Im not sure but it may have been thought up and even tryed. Any ideas out there or am i just bat shit crazy??
  4. that was a crazy night, we blew up a rooster that was killing the hens. just remember young rednecks + booze + explosives + to much time = disaster.
  5. Fellow 11B here except i was in Iraq 2003-04-05-06-09-10. safe to say those first few years were rough. no were near as bad as Nam, all my respect to you namgrunt and your fellow men of your time
  6. I love every second that im in the Army, wouldnt trade it for anything. Even with the 4 deployments
  7. congrats on makin it back, maybe ill see you at the DZ when i get back in 6 months.
  8. Ive been faced with this several times like im sure most here has. recently we had a pet rat (yes rat) who got a tumor in her mouth and was unable to eat. the wife took this $8 rat to the vet ($17 visit) and later had it put to sleep ($20 for drugs/time) i loved that rat but i could have bought 2 more and a toy for them at that price
  9. on my AFF 9 jump my left riser cover came undone and slapped me all the way down to 4500. not the same but at the time i had no idea what the hell was going on lol.
  10. asking permission is the forst step for getting denyed lol. but seriously someone covored it already, unless his command stats that he HAS ro have permission then he should be ok. I had a Team leader that competed in a local rodeo until he fractured his leg 3 times, then our command said NO.
  11. This story also takes place in Bragg. There i was on CQ (where all good stories begin) when the CQ from Aco called us saying that our men were being very loud. At the time we had the old 1950 barracks and since our Co was so small we were in a diferent building than our CP. I was sent over to see what the fuss was about and noticed a large line down the hall and into the stairwell. As i followed the line many people grummbled at me for cutting in line. Once i made it to the front of the line it went into a room were i noticed my first "barracks train" and i was totaly amazed at the sight. Sadly i had to report it and it was then broken up
  12. your right occupation isnt the complete goal and thats what is keeping every Afgahn from takig arms and waging the war we know there capable of. were fighting radicals and people wh just want to get paid for killing Americans.
  13. Your right on the fact that the Russians had a brutal way of fighting the only thing that stopped them from success was there lack of organization and cooperation within there own ranks. Now if we do the same im sure we can get it done.
  14. Kinda weird but i have to agree with Amazon on this one. KBR has made a fortune off us not to mention all the other places that are just banking from doing nothing here. thats why we need to get KBR and most all the other usless companies out of here and the the miitary run there own supply.
  15. Then theres something we can both agree on, we should have kept following the lil batards and destroyed every last one. Unfortunatly like i said before to many people would bitch about it.
  16. Sadly enough you cant just limit the "enemy" to just Taliban. The middle east has ALWAYS been rip with war no matter whos here, if they cant fight foreigners they fight themselves thats the way its always been. Now since were here we give them all a common enemy so Afgahn and Iraq is basicaly a terrorist's playground, not to mention people who just hate the US but not part of a group. If i remember the Gen. viewed the entire country of Afgahnistan as "enemy" since he used there population to figure out the numbers, which is completley wrong there not ALL out to get us. He was going by the 3-1 theory the Army has had adopted for years which is 3 of our troops to fight 1 of theres. This is a good solid practise when you fight soldiers, but we are fighting a force that doesnt fight they just blow shit up and make sure there not around. So the 3-1 really doesnt work in the sense he was thinking. We do need more troops there to covor the vast open areas that remained for the "enemy" to roam free. So to make a simple answer more comlicated, the "enemy" is whoever at that time is fighting with coalition forces. Sadly we cant put a face on them since they wear no uniform and dont really belong to any government.
  17. Im sure this comment will piss alot of people off but here it goes... my partial solution #1. lower funding to NASA, i mean really were NEVER going to colonize the moon or Mars or any place else why keep wasting trillions on the program. Im not saying stop it all together since that would destroy the economy even more, but we dont need to bomb the moon to see about water. 2#. Though i feel that were in Iraq for just reasons were dicken around ,to cut expenses here ive said it once before stop hiring all these third world workers and companies to do the work us soldiers can already perform. I talk with an electrician thats based here with me thats makeing just under 80k a year just to supervise a bunch of TCN's (third country nationals) putting in faulty electrical, when we have trained soldiers that have far more experience than him and his cronies. #3. STOP FOREIGN AID...yes we give money, resources to everyone. though it makes me sound cruel i dont care about the starcing children in Ethiopia i care about the once in America, so take that money and resources and put it back into our economy. #4. Again on the war topic...people think we came to Iraq souly for oil fine so be it, if we did then lets start taking the oil we came for instead of paying them double what its worth lets pay them 1/2 what its worth so they can start paying back what we gave them. Make no mistake we gave them TONS of shit, hospitals, schools, electric plants ect. If you could have sen this place in 2003 it was in ruins.
  18. Please dont give me that "free press" crap, only in America is it were you can show mutilated, dead, dieing people but heaven forbid you show a set of tits on TV. I mean really how dare you show tits on TV that will currupt young minds but keep showing dead people thats ok. We have a different mindselt now days saldy, some people say its evolution and civility, but they way it turns out is just more and more people dont have the stomach to what needs to be done. WWII we carpet bombed EVERYTHING and the public was fine about it, just because they really didnt see what all happened they only seen what was approved for disclosure. You can trend it ever since we allowedpublic media into war zones war became political and dosent allow the troops on the ground to make desisions that will end things. You may not think so but thats what has happened though wars may not be fought for what YOU think is right doesnt mean we shouldnt see them through to the end.
  19. You do realize its the winter season in a country that is mostly mountainous. Most fighting in regions like that start with the spring offensives... im not sure you know this but the military these days doesnt rely on "fair" weather to do anything so the thought of waiting for spring is ridiculous. So maybe its YOU who has no idea what your "yacking" about. SUUUUURE right..... and while the "enemy" dissapears till spring.... you can waste lots and lots of time and effort trying to find and kill him in places where he is not The fun part of fighting an insurgency.. is knowing the enemy To bad we DO know the enemy the only thing holding us back is the "bleeding hearts" of America that wont let us do our real job. All they do is cry when they see bad shit, hense the reason why media doesnt belong in the war zone.

  21. You are right she could have placed a request for either one of those solutions as well as some others. As far as your opinion sadly even since when i started in the Army things have gotten "easier" for soldiers. Now basic training is low stress so future soldiers wont have such a hard time. Its just rediculas on how much they cater to peoples wants when before it was the needs were good enough. In the last few years ive seen soldiers enter the service that never should have been allowed to pass basic, theres a lack of disipline, knowledge, and professionalism. Now thats my opinion.
  22. If this is ment for me that would be the first time ive been accused of making sense lol. I tend to lack a proper vocab to get my point out lol.
  23. This is truley very simple, just about everyone on this post have at one point or another agreed with each other on some points. The fact is wether she did this to get out of deployment or just a classic case of PPP (Piss Poor Planning=Piss Poor Performance) BOTH herslef and her leadership failed to do what they were suppose to do. It was stated once before stick her on Rear Det and figure things out later, she will be reprimanded but she wont be faceing AWOL charges.
  24. I guess this consept is getting hard for some. there is an open door policy The Army wont and cant force you to put your child into foster care, unless you are imprisoned for a violation of UCMJ. this policy is no different than in the civi world. Yes she had a plan but it fell apart, at that point she should have taken action to let the appropriate people know. Sounds like she tryed and her immediate leadership decided to lie to her about Army policy, at which time she should have sought advice elsewhere maybe from one of the MANY resources available to her. But what do i know ive only been in the Army for 9 years and deployed several times.
