  1. Nice video again.... I specially love the opening shot with you perfectly on your back there... great shot, I wonder who video'd that ;) Anyway, to all of you, thanx for the great time, I can't wait till next year ;)
  2. Thank you for posting, and organizing those jumps... I get all excited just seeing the footage again. I had fun, thanks again...
  3. wow... 37, this is going to be awesome... is that bigger than last year, or similar? just curious.
  4. Next time, sit so that I can see what's happening in the rearview mirror. Ha, next time you should just come to the hottub afterparty ;) which btw also didn't happen of course.. Arriving on Sunday at 11:47 on MCO, can't wait to get up in the air with you guys again...
  5. Same here... $947.50 CAD.... pretty crazy... Interestingly ... Amsterdam Tampa same date is about 490 Euros right now...
  6. looks awesome... Jarno was asking me to add 'support' for these rear-view flocks as well, if anyone has ideas for that... I might bring a newer version to FnD7 if people have any additional requests...
  7. 2nd jump.... 1st jump was static line jump number one after the theory and ground training, that parachute was packed by a previous student... After the first jump we had to pack the chute we just jumped, so it could be used again by yourself or the next student... Obviously throughout the packjob, instructors did several inspections, and provided guidance, to assure all would be OK. Nervous? not really, considering all the checks, I was pretty confident that it was all fine... made 4 jumps that day.
  8. Let me know what dates you'll be flying in, I'll make sure I'm there too... just to add some extra orange in the sky ;) Will be helping you with the orange...if the V3 is all I got by then. Sweet... we should organize an all orange formation load then ;)
  9. Think the hardest is finding the right fabric which is also fully transparent... a quick google didn't really come up with any useful results. but, if anyone can find the fabric, I'm sure we can work something out with phoenix or tony ;)
  10. from high-tech head up displays to butt-sex in just 3 posts. this world never ceases to amaze me ;)
  11. Yes, just ask at manifest who's organizing that day and they'll connect you. I had about the same number of jumps as you when I first visited and I had a great time and learned a ton! Be sure you ask for a landing area briefing as well. Most load organised jumps during the weekend end up a tad bigger than 4-ways though, the jumps they organise are a ton of fun, you should definitly join in... I'm there 14-17 as well...
  12. Had same experience with even just two leds telling me left or right. And cooper had similar issues with led displays, which is why the flysight gps is an audible device... While i encourage any development, my opinion after having played with it for a bit is that it is OK if you are alone in the air, but it should be left on the ground if you plan to jump with others. But well, that is justt my 0.02$
  13. I'm trying to get there on the 9th, but that is probably late evening, so start jumping 10th...
  14. Any wingsuiters in Lillo or Empuria, or elsewhere in the week after all the holiday boogies... (january 2-9). I need a warm place in Europe to get some jumps in... Italy would work for me too... as long as the sun shines, unlike here in The Netherlands where there is this nasty white stuff all over the place. Actually, any place with a DZ in Europe without snow would do ;)
  15. ah... whatever you call it Jarno... it looks scary as hell.... ;) awesome.....
  16. "392N / 88Lbf" for the Titan engine actually, which is the engine this guy is jumping with I think... 10K euro, "not all that expensive".. I guess all things are relative, I'm sure it's not expensive for this type of equipment, but I'm bailing. It certainly sounds/looks like a lot of fun, but 2x10K == 20K setup, spare parts etc, you're easily 25K EURO in.. I think I'll take some coaching and tunnel instead ;) The highest rated on the Baird site is only 160N, or 33.6Lbf.. thus comparable with the Pegasus HP from AMT.. which costs only 4K. Couldn't find a more powerfull engine on the baird site.
  17. but Jarno, I like you to do all the work for me ;) Anyway, 40 kilos per engine, so a person with an exit weight of a little less them 80kg could get a standup level flight, if he/she could actually balance on the engines... not many would succeed I guess.
  18. yeah, where can I buy this ;) One thing that actually got me thinking is that almost at the end of the clip you see him flying next to the plane at an almost 'upright' position... I wonder how far you can actually 'train' to balance on the engines, and get 'level' flight while in a stand-up position. How much thrust do these engines generate?
  19. Let me know what dates you'll be flying in, I'll make sure I'm there too... just to add some extra orange in the sky ;)
  20. F#*k.... Exactly on the day I'm flying to Amsterdam..... Boooooohoooooo... Next year !
  21. I'm sorry for the spam, but this will actually be the last one I'll post here. I just made another update.. version 0.2.2.0, which has a ton of new features suggested by several people. - You can now drag the entire folder from the FlySight Device into the view to import all jumps at once. - Added online version check, so if I post a new version, at startup the application will notify you of a newer version if available. - I now import GPX, as well as directly download GPX data from devices supported by gpsbabel. You need to setup the path to gpsbabel in the preferences. I tested it with my QStarZ logger, and it appears to work. - and a ton more, and work still in progress, but with the auto update I don't need to post anything here anymore, so again sorry for this last spam here.
  22. Latest version now here: http://tomvandijck.com/flysight/ I hope the above issue is now solved. If not, please just email me [email protected] or PM me. I got a bunch of feature request that I'm working on, and will obviously fix bugs as people run into them. If you have any other requests feel free to email or PM.
  23. K, new version... couple bugs fixed hopefully, and added the unit (imperial/metric) switch. And for those where the drag/drop didn't work, there is now an alternative maybe less confusing way to import flysight data through the file menu. select the "import csv" option.
  24. sorry for the confusion with the file menu and the drag&drop behavior. I'll see what I can do about that. I basically intended the file menu to allow you to save/load a set of log files... but like LukeH said, there is a small issue I need to fix with selection, which crashes right now.. As for zoom/pan, this is already there, if you click on the map first, you can use to pan, and the mouse wheel to zoom in/out. imperial/metric options, sure thing, several people have asked for that... right now I just display the units as I get them from the logfile, so I guess that is all meters and meters per second etc.. I guess I need some documentation too ;) Also, I'd be happy to support other GPS devices, if people want to provide me with the documentation, or files that come from those things. I'm currently trying to import data from the QStar I have.
  25. Not sure if this is going to work for anyone, but attached here is a start on a Windows Viewer for FlySight data. Just 'drag and drop' the .csv files into the lower left corner box in the application, and it will automatically add them by date and time. Select one jump and you should basically be able to see the trajectory of your jump in the satalite view, and in the graph tab you can see the altitude, velocities and glide ratio. The altitude is also displayed in a second graph in the bottom, in this graph you can select a range using the mouse.. this range is then displayed in the top graph. I included a screenshot for clarity. DISCLAIMER: no warranty if it doesn't work, make your computer go up in smoke, or other bad things. Many bugs are probably still there, features are missing, etc. Just let me know what you think, PM me with bugs or other comments.
