  3. Awesome guys! Good for y'all! Wish I could have been there to CRW and sign. ASL pro is a great tool (free website).....but I would also advise a cd rom asl dictionary because they show you how to use signs in the sentences. Jon is a fantastic teacher as well...since he taught the language at college, he's excellent at helping us "hearies" pick it up. Best of luck to you and come CRW with us at SSM sometime
  4. The love of skydivers never ceases to amaze me LOL! Walt and Billy got it "goin' on" Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

  6. It's kinda wierd. When people leave facebook...I've heard it referred to as "facebook/cyber suicide" or something like that. ....seems as if Walt was "executed" from dropzone.com Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  7. Update! He's the pilot in my avatar pic. I've kept him so busy with CRW that he doesn't have time to misbehave anymore He's been occupied with buying every Lightning he can find...and going to CRW camps in Florida and Arizona. You'll find him in this months Parachutist on pages 22 and 45. I'll be joining him on bigways very soon.
  8. Congrats to all of you!! It was a picture perfect day for it. Please keep us posted and come play with us in San Marcos as soon as you can!
  9. Welcome from another fellow Texas jumper! It sounds like you are extremely stoked about this awesome venture! Houston has outstanding dropzones and you are gonna have a blast. Keep us posted and good luck!
  10. Great meeting you as well...and great job with the jumps. I can tell you are having a ton of fun already! It just gets better. ...and it was a little chilly today. Can't imagine riding a bike home and NOT shivering. Have a great week and see ya out there again soon!
  11. Walt has some Shannon patches and decals. If anyone is interested please pm me. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Shannon....my heart goes out to those who miss her so much Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

  14. LOL Billy! When my friend and I team interpreted the CRW seminar last Dec. for Brian and Jonathan, I was more than relieved that it was not my "turn" when Jonathan delivered his message to Walt from you. Walt would have died if it had been me voicing that...anyway, I shall let him know! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  15. Hey...we decided to wait for Sunday as well. I'll be wishing you well on your AFFs while were playing in the San Marcos sky! Hope to see you sometime out there in Houston. Good luck and please say hello to John Rich and everyone else out there
  16. We will see you there on Sunday! Winds look great for AFF....and not too bad for CRW either
  17. You're gonna LOVE it! Good luck
  18. Well, I am now jumping a Lightning 113 and will have crap hanging out of my container when it is packed. .....now maybe it's time to try a diamond!
  19. Hello fellow Texas jumper! I'm a regular at SSM. Last weekend we were lucky to get one jump in at Skydive Temple. Weather (so far) looks awesome for this weekend. I hope to see you out there and cheer you on
  20. ***don't be afraid to ride the plane down if you're not in the right state of mind to make a safe jump QuoteThat lesson would have sooo come in handy on my first (and only) AFF jump! I was so nervous and physically exhausted. It was the last load of the day, and I really had no business even going up in the plane. As the three of us left the aircraft, I immediately went into the fetal position, and was told later that I was on my back doing practice touches. HOLY CRAP!! Anyway, I lost one instructor (and a shoe), and the other one had to deploy my parachute for me at 7K!! He had to do this with me on my back. Yikes. I continued my training at a different dz via the static line method. It was awesome. I always like to tell people that my AFF jump was a sign. The horrible freefall and long, sunset canopy ride were cues that CrEW was what I needed to be doing
  21. Just got the news Ballunar was cancelled. The details will be posted on the website soon. Bummer, but understandable in light of the number hurricane Ike did there. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  22. Cool! I am so glad you can make it. I jumped with you in San Marcos a couple of years ago. Just got my C license, so I am officially coming now. Can't wait!
  23. Does anyone know if they are offering hot air balloon rides? I have a friend who wants to buy their mother one. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
