  1. Damn, in class then, I'll have to skip... thanks for the heads up!
  2. I did my first 7 jumps at Orange before I had to switch to a drop zone closer to my school. The staff there is very friendly and take safety seriously. Their gear they use is great. I haven't heard any complaints from anyone I've talked to who has skydived there
  3. Would I have to go through training like a days worth like the first AFF because I'm new to the dropzone or would they make me do an extra jump and review my history to prove where I'm at in training?
  4. I'm currently a student about to start cat E jumps, so far have 7. I did them in Orange, VA kinda close to my home (really good dropzone). Anyway I'm in Jersey now for school and am contemplating weather to go home for jumping or go to a place around here. Being closer to school jumping in Jersey would be easier and save me alot of $$$ on gas, but am not sure for training if I should do all of it at one dropzone. Any suggestions? Also, any recomendations for drop zones in Jersey? I heard Crosskeys is a great place but I am closer to NY than Philly.
  5. Sorry if this is an old question, but I'm still in training to get my A license and was wondering how many jumps I should have until I get an instructor and start learning? I'm at school now about 250miles away from my dropzone so I cant really ask them for their opinions. Would 50 or 100 jumps be good, or wait till a couple hundread jumps? Thanks for any help!
  6. Landing at a certain point, close to it. I feel very comfortable in freefall, but last time I had to do 4 90degree turns, 2 180degree turns, and 2 360degree turns, plus the pilot dropped us a little far, so ended up decending real quick because of the turns and had to land downwind because of being too low. Probably the worst jump so far for me, but now I now I'm done with having to do 8 turns before landing and know to pay more attention to the alti
  7. That would be awesome, I would love to see the landing http://www.gofastsports.com/zone/wingsuit.html
  8. Same with me, I just got done with Cat C 1 JM. Everything went great, then during last seconds of FF I started turning some. When I pulled I got a line twist but got out of it in about 10 seconds. Line twist was pretty fun though. Anyway, my jumpmaster who is pretty strict told me it was one of the best cat c's hes seen but I'm still thinking about my cat D. Can't wait till I jump by myself!
  9. Is there a big difference jumping with and without a jumpsuit? I talked to one guy at my dropzone and he said theres not much difference, unless you wear the jumpsuit with booties that act like rudders. If there isnt much difference in FF whats the appeal?
  10. What about spraining ankles and crap like that? I'm wondering because in about a month I will be at school about 250 miles away, and every other week or so am going to make it back to the dropzone to jump, but if I screw my ankle up it would mess up transportation for me jUST wondering how often they occur
  11. Hey I'm a student during cat d now and am wondering about the fact that I read in the SIM that all skydivers have hard landings. I was wondering if these are related to flaring too soon or other factors? Other than flaring too early what can cause hard landings, like turbulance?
