  1. I did explain reasons we might use a knife. But he had no idea we had a handle to pull that cuts away our main. Bluestar

  3. Yesterday at work, a coworker asked me a few things about skydiving. He said, what happens if your parachute comes out and the lines get all tangled up, and when you try to cut away you drop the knife when your trying to cut your lines. I started laughing and could not stop. He really believed that you have to cut away your parachute with a knife. After I stopped laughing I explained how it is really done. People who don't jump surprise me when they ask questions .

  9. in reply to: By the way, bluestar, What do you mean about PVC and Margarine being "one molecule" apart? Any two different substances are "one molecule apart"! A molecule of water is one molecule apart from a molecule of toluene!! A molecule is a molecule! Or did you mean that a molecule of PVC has an extra chloride atom sticking out of the hydrocarbon chain, or what? 5-did u know i can't tell the differance between a atom and a molecule
  10. collecting the DNA samples might be interesting! "We gonna have so much fun, we will need plastic surgery to remove the smiles from our GD faces!"-Family Vacation Kevin
  11. 1-You can tell if a pearl is real by droping it in viniger - if it disolves it was real! 2-You can tell if a diamond is real by putting a flame to it-if it burns up it was real! 3-Urine is sterile-So a PA is the best pericing to get b/c it has the least chance of infection. 4-Margrine (sp-U know the fake butter stuff) and PVC are only one molocule apart chemically.
  12. Have to give a thumbs up to Ark. Aero Sports. Whwn we decided to start jumping again we spent a weekend DZ shopping and the fine folks in Conway won Hands Down. We were willing to drive 3 hrs as opposed to a "King Air DZ" 1 hr from the house! (2) C182's (1) Beech 18 - clasic (1) Beech 18 - turbine It's a realitivly new DZ but the people are great, great neighbors, and other Kids the same age as ours. It's only drawback is it located in a dry county, and U can't sell beer in Ark on Sunday. Not really a problem if you plan in advance. Also have had great experiences @ OPC(OSC) many years ago when mel still owned it. havent jumped ther in years but hope to correct that soon. I take Pammi's word it has not changed Skydive Dallas - A large DZ with a small DZ feel and great aircraft Anyway that's my 2 cents. Kevin The AAD took natural selection out of our sport the hook turn brought it back
  13. All of u from OSC probably know Spad (assuming he still jumps there). Anyway, a student was asking about the wings on camera suits, Spad explaind to him "how with the wings u can flair the suit like your canopy and land it with a double mal and how jumpers should practice this on clouds so while learning b/c if U flair to late you won't bounce on the cloud". This guy went around foe a while believing this and of course "sharing" his expertise with others. C-Ya Kevin
  14. actually I was serious one of our cameramen/aff instructers naps regularly on the way to altitude. If I did not think he would try and pull in the plane I would blow in his face and set a beeper off in his ear. see ya kevin
  15. I did my SCR in the winter time. At the DZ I was jumping at you got a beer bath when you did your 1st 8-way. Then the pitot turned the prop of the plane on behind me. You talk about being COLD! I ran as fast as I could to get in a hot shower. Blue Skies Teresa
