  1. A single length non-adjustable normal loop? Maybe that could be done with a lot of experimenting. I got a detailed instruction sheet from AirtecKai and that worked. Thanks. How did the door frame hit the exposed part if it was in the channel? Just an unlucky good shot? Did you find someone to do CReW with? Ha-Ha.
  2. Yes you did, and thank you for the help. The factory told me to build it like the one that was in it. Problem is, the one that is in it doesn't look right. It might be, but I need proof!
  3. Maybe one of you out there can help me find instructions on how to build a Cypress closing loop for a Tear Drop rig. I have down loaded and read the owners manual, nothing about how to build it there. Any advice would be well appreaciated. Thanks JWB
  4. Where exactly wolud one find this RW progression? I am a newly rated uspa coach and am searching for good drill dives. Thanks. JW
  5. You bet it has changed. I love it!! Everything is better. I jump at Luverne MN. It does get cold, haven't jumped since early Dec.
  6. There are more of us than you might think. I just got my A lic. last year. Made my first jump in '78. Did you jump the T-10? Welcome back.
  7. JWB

    Need a glossary

I absolutely agree!! Every time I learn a new term I feel that much closer to not being a complete "Rookie". The lady is right, read and research a lot. It can be a pain, it can also be very rewarding.
  8. Welcome aboard! I jump in Minnasota, yea, great 1st Saturday of the year sitting here listening to thunder sleet. Happy New Year! Jerry (I can give you my address so you know where to send the beer) Ha-Ha.
  9. Come to SDSI Luverne MN. on the 4th of July. We bring in a Kingair that will get you to altitude in 7 minutes. I was in Copters (Army). 8th Avation, West Germany.
  10. Welcome back!! Where you been for 2 years? How many jumps do you have? I'm thinking... combat? Ft. Wayne, Army or Airforce? Check 6, especially before pulling!
  11. It helped. I don't think anyone could sleep through it.Encouragement is here, the rush of freefall is undescribeable. What makes you actually jump from a perfectly good airplane comes from within. Here is a quote from DZ "If you're not living on the edge, you are taking up to much space". I am 44 and just got to freefall this year. (solo) I love it. Besides you can cheat death at least once!
  12. Yea you're here. Welcome aboard.
  13. I have been trying to remember "throw in the direction of spin". The only thing that comes to mind is we had to throw out the pilot chute of the T10a if it did not deploy itself. Is that what you mean? If we had to cutaway (you remember with the capewells) a Stevens System was supposed to deploy the reserve. All that consisted of was a rope attached to the main risers on one end and to the reserve handel on the other.
  14. Just make sure she comes with a good Dowry!! Welcome aboard!
  15. Thanks, are you working on getting your A lic.?
  16. Sounds like me: 5 jumps in '78, didn't start again until '04!! Should have stayed with it. The sport has changed so much we have a lot of catching up to do. All my jumps in '78 were on T-10s with T-10a reserve. Heavy boots and sore ankles. Got real good at PLFs!!
  17. Did I have a good time!! Oh man. Everyone was great. Finding people to jump with was not a problem. The people there tought me alot. Thanksgiving Day was the best jump day I have ever had!! I could go on and on but I wont, lets just say it was a week I will never forget. Thanks for the welcome.
  18. Thanks! Learning to snow board would be great. So far I just put on more clothes and keep jumping. I got in 2 jumps yesterday(12-11-04). Congrats on your A lic. Do you live this sport as much as I do?? How is life down under???
  19. Hi all, my name is Jerry. I got my A lic. in Oct, went to Eloy for the Thanksgiving Boogie (only had 40 jumps). Now I'm back in South Dakota wandering who invented snow and what the heck is this work thing. All Blue jerry
