  1. I take it that was aimed at me Jarno?? I felt the legwing pop back between my legs, almost at the point my body was parallel to the ground, the canopy continued on its recovery and leveled off, I was thinking "this is going to be a fucking long fast one" (nil winds) when I just seemed to 'lurch' half a foot lower. I had my knees bent and the right knee hit the lawn, cue big bounce and final landing 20 metres away. I'm kinda sore today but ok. Edited to add: My new Blade is fine, just one slight grass stain!
  2. Can the wingsuit (the legwing really) have a negative effect if you are swooping? I did a few jumps this weekend, with 270 FR landings, initiated at the same height each time. The last one I almost creamed myself in, and there was only 2 things different, 1. I was wearing a WS, on which the leg wing popped out behind me on the final fastest part of the turn. 2. I initiated the turn a little quicker than normal. I accept that whatever the cause it was fully my fault, and I was lucky to get away with some bruises and whiplash. My knee impacted 1 second after the canopy leveled off. I'm not looking for excuses, just to understand what happened. 6. Posted by one of my FFC students. Enjoy!
  7. I almost always deploy from full flight, I pitch, then kinda go for max lift/stall the suit. Deployments are sweet, when timed correctly. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk
  8. Nice one Jarno. Speak to you soon bro. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk
  9. Yeah, thanks Jarno, that's what i was getting at. You can start flying straight away, hence the 'being on the hill' stuff doesn't really apply. You'll have to excuse me, English isn't my first language...oh...wait a minute... 11. Hey!! Did you forget about the Brits? I'm coming too!
  12. I prefer to go off on my back from the C-182, but I'm wierd. I have done many 'student' type exits from the C-182 also, and have no problems turning straight from exit either way. I think the 'hill' has less of an effect on a wingsuit IMHO. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk
  13. A pitot reading will only give you a reading when pointing into the airflow. It will only tell you how fast you are going through the air, not true airspeed (unless you have a static reading too) to be a little more accurate, you need mulitple pitot probes and a flight management computer. How about just jump and adopt a position that feels right? Too much brains, not enough 'gut instinct'.
  14. Like the 'Now for the rubbing of the penis's' line after our jump in Zwartberg? Maybe... Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk
  15. I just saw it. You could almost picture the canopies above their heads. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

  22. Pretty much every UK DZ continues jumping through the winter, we jump at altitude if we can get it, or low if the weather is shitty. Some DZ's closest to London are LPS, Headcorn, Sibson and Chatteris. Check out www.bpa.org.uk for the DZ map.
  23. Anyone know for certain when the Moscow tunnel will be ready and open? Planning a trip to Aerograd Kolomna in May 2007 and hoping to spend some time in the tunnel too.
