  4. because there is alot of stuff I have learned on my own from reading the SIM that was never covered in my FJC I was failed on several levels It is the Instructors duty to do it right, thats why they are an instructor, if oyu dont know its wrong, what would prompt you to ask?
  5. because nobody ever told me I was doing anything wrong, I was landing like I always had. So how did I know there was something else I should be doing? I nhardly ever wear shoes in my other life, and I have heard alot of people here and at the dz talking about and or doing it I froze when I realized I was going land on the taxi way, having ground fixation and not flaring has been one of my bigger problems in the past, but the last 15 or so jumps, it hasnt been a problem, my landings were spot on
  6. I'm kinda slow sometimes, please explain this to me. What "thing" did you fall into? Being an attractive girl , our instruction is often times half-assed. A guy is gonna get better more thorough intruction b/c he is a guy, an attractive girl, maybe not always the case, but flirting often takes the place of a thorough education. I know of SEVERAL girls who have expierenced this, and mine was doubly bad b/c I am attractive and I b/c I was a jumpers wife....
  7. There goes another person, WHO DOESNT know me, comenting on MY ATTITUDE... this cracks me up... call me stupid, but I think I have a right to be pissed off. Jumping out of a plane is not something we are naturally born with the knowledge to save our asses, and unless were told by those who know (just in case you didnt know, its not the new jumpers who know) how the fuck are we supposed to know? If we didnt know it was wrong, it is the responsibilty of other of other jumpers to look out for those of us who are new and dont know as much as the older jumpers do. And if you wanna argue about it being the responsibilty, the it should just be how it is to look out for our fellow jumpers to keep this sport that much safer...
  8. if they dont say anything how can I listen to them?
  9. just to educate you people who think you know whats going on, you don't... read.... MY FJC was half-assed because I was a jumpers wife, I realize this now, but at the time did I see a problem with it? No, because I didnt know any better. It was done over two nights between 10 & 12 pm. The when I took my written, I was handed the answer sheet, did I think this was wrong, no... b/c I have often (in other situations) taken open book or answer provided tests. The only part of my AFF that was spot on was the the jumps. the landing by radio was done by the DZO, and never made a lick of sense, never once was I brought in on a "pattern" and had it explained too me. Not until high 30's low 40's when my husband explained a pattern to me, did I understand. Was this my fault no, this should have been properly done in my early training. About the small reserve, when the rig was first bought I was totally okay leaving it sit until I was ready to jump it, but shortly after I had my A license, my husband told me I was fine to jump it, this was around jump #30. The main at the time was a Sabre 135. Since he was a coach, I assumed it was fine. It had the 126 reserve in it then too. the gusty weekend that you saftey nazi's are having so much fun ripping my ass to shreds over... lets look at the whole picture for a sec, shall we... the weekend prior, as soon as I showed up to the DZ, two very respected instructors told me to sit it out b/c of the winds, I did, no questions asked. Also that day they were having a hard time getting any loads up. the weekend in question, as soon as we got there, we were 3 back on the soonest load with any openings, loads were full and AFF students were also going up. the two weekends had entirely different descriptions. I observed the windsock,& I watched the other jumpers before I went up. Unlike the weekend before, nobody even remotely suggested to me that it might not be okay. One of my goals that I had set for myself has a higher licensed jumper was to always look out for the younger jumpers. (as two people did the first weekend in the story) So too all you people who just think Im being careless, go F yourself. I take the safety issues that IM AWARE OF very seriously, and I practice and visualize it multiple times before I jump. Also about the gusty wind post, my question was simply "why is it easier to land with ground winds then not" you people who like to eat ass turned it into a thread about the weekend when you said I shouldnt have jumped. Well when all I wanted was a simple answer to a simple question, and it turned into an ass chewing fest, sure it pissed me off. I just wanted an answer. I have made some wonderful friends in this sport, and have some great memories, but im done... maybe had I not fallen into the same thing that so many other attractive girls do in this sport ( I dont think I have to explain this) things would be different... and one more note to the saftey nazi's...you can attract more flies with honey than you can vinegar... my stuff will soon be in the classified...
  10. Thanks to all the vibes out there, everyone who PM'd me, called me, or posted to this thread made me feel a ton better. I did learn a valuable lesson tho, no matter how many people I know who jump barefoot, dont do it, and I will never do it again... a very painful lesson was learned. As far as my canopies go... I have made 40 jumps between my first 126 reserve and my new 126 reserve. I have made several jumps on a wide range of canopies from a 135 to the 150 im jumping now thru those 40 jumps. I consulted alot of people (intelligent many jump instructors and such) before buying the 2nd 126. but thanks again to everyone and an even special bigger thanks to everyone at Zhills, you guys really took care of me!!! And that will never be forgotten!!!!
