  1. I'm in. Team Gonzo will be in attendance. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  2. I'll be at Spaceland with Blake this Saturday all day. You should come out 'manduh. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  3. Definitely seems like the end of an era at SDH. We had something great there that fades more and more every weekend lately. Most of you had it before I ever came along. Oh well, other DZs, other aircraft is right. They'll be seeing a lot more of me at my old home spaceland and aggieland this summer. No more waiting patiently in line for 10 minutes only to be snubbed by manifest for me. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  4. I'm very happy with my safire 1 in every aspect. I psycho pack it everytime and get beautiful openings almost always. The only time I've gotten bad line twists was with a toggle release on opening cause of a worn toggle keeper. It's a great beginner swooping canopy too. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  5. 5' 10.5", 170 to 175 lbs. Looking forward to it. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  6. I'll do my best to be there, but I've grown out of the Levin's Classic that I've been flying for the last few months. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  7. Well, I'm kind of disappointed. The artistic events started yesterday, and I come to find the Perris Valley site isn't keeping the Standings up-to-date or even posting any as far as I can tell and omniskore won't even have anyone at the competition until the artistic events are over. I guess artistic competition still takes a backseat to RW as I see, once again, the opening ceremony doesn't even take place until the artistic events are mostly over. Anyone have any updates for us from Perris? I'd like to see how my friends on Team Bling are doing in intermediate freefly. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I notice what appear to be the only 2 women on the invite list are both from Texas and both jump at Skydive Houston. Way to go Kat and Brit! ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  9. Alright. so we've all been drooling over the pictures. How about some video of this suit flying? ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  10. I start my 180's between 350 ft on my safire1 loaded around 1.3 or just under (depending how much beer I've been drinking that month). It's actually a 1.4 if you use the 8% less rule and call my 149 a 135. I have read and heard that the recovery arc is shorter on a safire2, but haven't flown one. As for my safire1, I love it and will probably continue to fly it and learn with it for many many jumps to come. It has a ton of flare (just lower in the toggle stroke than a PD, which I really like), awesome openings that are perfect for wingsuits, and I can get great turf surfs out of it. Mine was built in January 2000 and has had a reline with Vectran cut by Icarus's loft in Chicago and I believe these new lines have a trim revision from the original lineset shipped with the canopies years ago. I also psycho pack it, as recommended by icarus. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  11. Even if I'm not up to the qualifications to fly it by AOT, I can't wait to see this system up close and in person. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  12. Hey voodew. Will it be the SG-1 (sugarglider) demo or a new GS-1 demo that you'll have at AOT? ....Can't wait. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  13. Some of you don't seem to be paying attention to what he is saying... he is already swooping a pilot loaded at 1.6, a sabre2 loaded at 1.6 or lower is just going to be the samething or even more docile then the pilot from what i know of the pilot. I can't help you with elliptical canopy choice, but i was interested in this thread because i'll be choosing my first elliptical sometime in the future as well. I've always liked everything I've heard about the crossfire1 or 2 and will probably make that my first real elliptical step, after more jumps and a few conservative downsizes on semi-ellipticals of course. Can any of the more experienced out there compare some ELLIPTICAL canopies for us instead of suggesting side steps to a sabre2 semi-elliptical. Be safe and please pay attention to what i'm asking and not start flaming me about moving too fast, I'm not saying I'm going to be moving to a 1.6 elliptical tomorrow and probably not for another year and some downsizes on safire1's, just would like to read responsible suggestions for good hp elliptical canopies for people who have taken the right steps and are ready to move from their semi-ellipticals to fully ellipticals. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  14. I see a lot of people mentioning the western suburbs and when looking for houses to rent they look good to me. Are most the western suburbs (naperville, villa park, lombard, aurora, etc) connected to the city by train? Are the trains and transit system worth using? I would assume so. Here in Houston we have no mass-transit (one of the reasons we want out), and I'd definitely use it in Chicago if it meant not sitting in traffic jams every morning. So, are the burbs mostly connected to the city? Thanks everybody ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  15. Alright, so, who can tell me some decent areas in or around town to live in? suburbs too (we're untrendy too). We'll need a 3br house or the like. Being musicians we have a hard time with apartments and the dogs need a yard. I'm thinking anywhere up to $1600/month max. Thanks for all the help. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  16. Thanks for the solid input. Generally from what month to what month are you able to jump up there? ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  17. haha, that's probably what will happen anyway Just looking into other places. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  18. Oh yeah, and any sites with information. Especially sites with listings of rental houses or flats in the area would be appreciated too. Thanks. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  19. heh, yeah, Austin is another place on our list, I've been there 100 times, but I think the other 3 don't like the idea so much of Austin for various reasons. ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  20. So, me, my guitarist/best friend, and our girlfriends are looking into cities to move to (the 4 of us have all been in houston too long), and Chicago came up as an idea last night. We all know little about it except that there is a good music scene, a couple of excellent dropzones in the area, and bad weather. So, Chicago people, tell me about it. I already know the dropzones are great, so what do you think of the city itself? How's the cost of living? How's the job market? How's the music? How's the food? How's the overall vibe? etc, etc. Any other ideas for cities in the US to move to that won't cost an arm and a leg? ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
  21. 99% sure i'll be there at this point ---------- gravity rat formula 109 Team Gonzo and Team Jamaican Me Crazy no bullshit, let's just fly, be safe, and have fun.
