  1. Sony finally gets directly into the POV / action cam market! http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666484197#additionalImage1%22 ---------------------------------------
  2. It's easy ...just need a screwdriver. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3835924;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread ---------------------------------------
  3. Thx for posting pics.....got that setup mounted on a helmet yet? Would love to see more if you do. ---------------------------------------
  4. The weekend weather forecast is looking great. After "breezy" leaves tomorrow we should have a perfect weekend for jumping. I'm looking forward to jumping the CASA. Who is in for a speed star race? ---------------------------------------
  5. Is there any chance that the NC Rotor & Wing guys might let us make a heli jump or 2? ---------------------------------------
  6. I'm having thoughts of TURKEY and the BLUE SKY that we had today! ---------------------------------------
  7. I'm re-posting this info from the CSS Family Google group page http://groups.google.com/group/cssfamily?hl=en Any of the licensed Skydivers that need equipment for the "NC TCB" Contact me (Tony Thacker) at Raeford, by phone or e mail. I am not open that weekend and have lots of equipment all CYPRES & RSL equipped. 910 904 0000 [email protected] Blue Skies, Tony Thacker ---------------------------------------
  8. I've got one- It has proven to be very durable. The small size of this camera is it's biggest asset. The stock 90 degree field of view lens is narrow for most skydiving shots. Quality of the picture is just what you read- great for Youtube and such but not HD. For me it is very acceptable. I've made DVD's that look pretty good. To have a better picture you'd have to spend a lot more money. For me the size makes this camera ideal. I have mine side mounted with some serious hook & loop tape. I used the stock mount for a while on my motorcycle helmet but don't like it for skydiving as it sticks out too much. Lots of insider talk here: http://www.vholdr.com/forum Where did you hear about a fish eye lens? I asked more than once and get no indication this will be made. Since the release Vholdr seems to have spent more on developing their video sharing site than on hardware development. Overall it's a good little camera & I'd buy another if I lost mine. If you are into this camera spend some time reading on their forum about it. Oh & for what it's worth: I'm just out to have fun with this Point Of View camera- I don't consider myself a video guy by any means. The first video I ever made was with MovieMaker & a VHoldr....for that matter all the movies I've made have been with it. ---------------------------------------
  9. What's up Tony?! I'll be sure to pass the message on to the Old Men. Ha Ha! ---------------------------------------
  10. There is another CSS thread regarding Hot air ballon jumps for the Thanksgiving Boogie: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3018887;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread I just thought I'd mention it here to try and keep all the info in one thread. It would be wise to call ahead and get on the list if you are interested. DZ # is 919 496-2224 http://www.carolinaskysports.com/ExperiencedSkydivers/tabid/52/Default.aspx I hope to see another fun crowd this year and I'm looking forward to some great skydives.

good question..... I've been wondering the same ---------------------------------------
  13. Hey Everybody- I'm inviting another group to the Durham Bull's Baseball game this Thursday 26th. It's more or less a repeat of usual: gametime is 7; there is always a group that will meet and carpool from my house- planned departure 6:30. Everybody is invited...especially "Freak Flyers going Flat" We need to hear about this more before heading to Raeford this weekend... send me a PM or call or somehow let me know and I'll get you tickets. Thursday, July 26, 7pm Durham Bulls vs Norfolk Tides $1 Hot Dogs, French Fries & Popcorn all night long Let me know if you are in! -Greg ---------------------------------------
  14. So what's the harness & container gonna look like? Does the Democracy of CSS get to vote again? ---------------------------------------
  15. I'll vote for #1 also but 5 is a close 2nd. I'm curious about #4 ....and those that voted for it: Why do you like the white topskin & black bottom combo? Am I missing something about the all white top skins here? Considering the fact that you are using this for customers we could get into the psychological realm of colors too: Blue is calming, etc. The inside of most enclosed life rafts is blue to help with seasickness. In that case I might vote for the spin 'em puke'em pound'em red & black ---------------------------------------
  16. I still have a few tickets for the Bull's game tonight if anybody wants to come. Brandon...check your PMs for info. ---------------------------------------
  17. Hey Everyone- Tuesday July 3rd www.dbulls.com Many of you know that I like to drink beer...I mean watch baseball I've got 40 seats in section 212 and you are invited. Let me know if you are interested- hopefully I'll make it to the dz Sunday afternoon (late) & hand you a ticket. If we miss each other Sunday then you can meet at my house at 6:00ish before the game. There will be a carpool leaving at 6:30. Oh yeah...fireworks after the game too. "Just stand here and Wooley Bull will throw a ball ...you MIGHT catch one" Does anybody remember this from last year?? ---------------------------------------
  18. Yes it was one of the best weekends CSS has seen in a while. I'm not sure what Pete put in the snowcones but we need to order more of that for next time. By the way my "liquor luge" ice block never came to be...I show up at the walk in freezer with a hand truck & a BIGazz cooler only to find a large pale of cool WATER sitting in a broken freezer. Some of the pictures taken fall into the category "you just hade to be there to see it" The expressions of the onlookers is what I'll post and next time you'll just have to be there yourself.
  19. How long does it take to freeze approx 24 gallons of water in a walk in freezer that I guess is -10 F? ---------------------------------------
  20. Memorial Day weekend coming up- The details are sparse on the web site http://www.carolinaskysports.com/ExperiencedSkydivers/MemorialDayBoogie/tabid/120/Default.aspx I do know that there is a DJ party in the hangar Saturday night I'm sure there will be more shenanigans...let's talk it up. ---------------------------------------
  21. www.4waymeet.com The schedule is out. Canopy piloting info is in the minutes. ---------------------------------------
  22. I know of 2 more entries that MelissaP. & I made that turned out pretty darn good too. Melissa went with a turkey, veggie, black bean mix & I stuck with a traditional red. Mine is a secret recipe but I'll share if you vote for me to win! Oh & I heard Nick was sneaking in with a small chili entry as well.... ---------------------------------------
  23. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OG ---------------------------------------
  24. Of course I'd be up for the karting trip too....as if you had to ask! Go ahead and count Nick & J in as well. ---------------------------------------
  25. The http://www.carolinaskysports.com/ Thanksgiving Boogie needs a little talking up here. From the CSS newsletter: "CASA and Twin Otter jumps at $20 -- great load organizers – good food – bonfire all good reasons to be thankful!" ---------------------------------------
