  1. Never crossed my mind. Seriously, why would I want to waste time talking to an imaginary dude when I could be figuring out whats wrong and how to fix it? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  2. This is England, the risks of being shot on duty are really pretty low for the average bobby (no matter what JohnRich would have you believe) Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  3. I don't want to get deep into such personal things for the sake of arguing a case on teh internest but I'll just ask, do you put this down to the intervention/ no-intervention of god or do you think it is simply a medical matter? (Say the word and I'll drop it.) Now this is an interesting line of thought. It appears you believe in quite an active, interventionist God. How does this gel with free will and facing the consequences of one's actions? If I ask the generic question "Why is there evil/ war/ murder in the world" you'd probably tell me about free will. Yet on the other hand you're telling me that God can and does intervene to save people from the consequences of their actions (eg. running over your kid). When you accept that God is perfectly willing to intervene to make the world a better place the fact that the world is so terrible for so many people must become a lot more problematic for you. 4. Well I would imagine that source to be pretty biased... Also though, of all the benefits that they listed, aren't they outweighed by the fact that hardly anyone seems to recycle plastic bags properly? Tens of thousands of the things just get thrown into the countryside and they don't go away. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  5. So you didn't read the link you posted? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  6. No, its not normal. Yes, I (in my uneducated opinion) would generally expect a kid to get killed or very seriously injured by that. And there's the thing, I would generally expect a kid to die from that sort of thing, and things like that happen all the time! A quick google search shows that in 2005 in the UK alone 70 kids under the age of 16 were run over and killed. So Steve (and I mean no offence by this) what makes your kid so special? What does he have that those dead pedestrians didn't, that cot death kids don't, that kids who find daddies gun without the safety catch on don't? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  7. So your evidence for the existence of God is (let me get this straight) fog? Fog in freakin' London!? Yeah what a miracle 'cos that, like y'know, never used to happen ever! Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  8. I'm not at all surprised. You've always shown yourself to be a very reasonable guy.
  9. A profession of faith? It was a deliberate slam, how else do you interpret 'fool' (emphasised in all caps no less)? If bigtexan wants to respond with a few 'fools' of his own then thats his prerogative. It's no more hate speech than the original post was. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  10. I'm saying the ressurection is not the first miracle Christ is supposed to have performed. I think I'm right in saying the apostles were by all accounts utterly convinced of the divinity of christ before he was nailed up, yes? In that case, well, suppose there was an empty tomb. Suppose people reported seeing a bloke who looked like Jesus walking around. Suppose a story blossomed from there. I'm not saying thats what happened, I honestly don't have a clue what happened, but I know this - I see examples of human deceit, gullibility, fallibility, obsession, irrationality and myriads of other faults practically every damn day. I have never seen a divine miracle. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  11. That was actually a play on words describing their requirement to give oral sex to an old lady. Oh dude! That was not necessary! Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  12. You're creating a false dichotomy. The only two choices you acknowledge are; 1) They made it up, did not believe any of it and were intentionally decieving people, 2) It was all true. It just isn't that simple. People are, by their nature, gullible, credulous and easily persuaded. Once people are sufficiently persuaded of the 'truth' value of something they can become extremely blind to any contrary evidence. People are completely capable of on the one hand completely believing the truth of something while, on the other, inventing supporting evidence to strengthen their cases. 13. You gotta admit though, it is funny when people say that. "You stupid atheist devil worshippers you!" "Hmm, you haven't quite grasped the meaning of the word 'atheist' have you...." Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  14. "The muppet says in his heart: Hello Mr Magic Man in the sky!" Jack 4:2 Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  15. But did they include stealing cheese from an altar? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  16. But you must also agree that the Holy Spirit is not the only source of these attributes, for those who are not christian can display them too. Since the HS is not the only way to come about these qualities you cannot say that someone who displays them has definitely been guided by it. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  17. Are the entrance requirements for heaven on the 'peripheral' side of christianity? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  18. Because they're afraid of the USPA who might take their membership or because they are afraid of the FAA who could yank ratings and issue hefty fines? Incorrect analogy. A better one would be "If the legal speed limit was 70 but the local neighborhood watch posted a 55 limit, how many peopel would pay attention to it?" My point is not void because we are talking about FARs vs BSRs. Legal vs voluntary. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  19. How do they actively enforce the 120 day rule? If USPA decided to require a shorter repack cycle than the FAA how many people do you think would follow it? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  20. Thank you. SO the USPA does backdoor regulate or ensure compliance with the 120 day repack. The FAR is a legal requirement whether you belong to the USPA or not. The USPA has to require FAR compliance, if they did not they would be seen to be condoning illegal activities. (And as far as I am aware, the USPA is in favour of the FAA extending the repack cycle) Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  21. You seems to have the USPA confused with the FAA. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  22. sorry but 1+1=10 any true geek knows that. There are 10 types of people in the world.... Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  23. And given that many passages seem to be open to interpretation in nearly limitless ways who the hell really knows when the holy spirit is guiding them? I tell you what, who do you think has been most guided by the holy spirit out of this list: The Eastern Orthodox The Western Orthodox The Assyrians The Oriental Orthodox The Catholics The Episcopals The Anglicans The Evangelicals The Lutheran Protestants The Reformed The Presbyterians The Congregationalists The Anabaptists The Methodists The Pietists The Baptists The Spiritual Baptists The Brethren The Apostolics The Pentacostals The Charismatics The NeoCharismatics The African Initiated The United The Quakers The Christian Scientists The Mormons The Adventists The Jehovahs Witnesses Or You? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  24. I dunno, I'm just working from runour and hearsay But I say no too. Segregated landing areas may well be something for a lot of DZ's to look at, but not banning big turns all together. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
