  1. My daughter (8months) and I are going as matching witches.
  2. At least you are getting the mag, i have gotten a couple and my husband never got any!
  3. My husband and I travel 45 to Palakta verses an 30mins to the one in Jacksonville, Fl. Palakta has great AFF instructors and other skydivers. The Attitude of the DZ is like our family. Jacksonville has bigger planes but is more costly and we felt like we were in the way there.
  4. I can totally feel you. I am only 5'2 and jump a 220 jav. I make sure before putting the rig on that the pilot chut sticks a tiny bit and in free fall I tell myself to grab higher.
  5. When my husband and I did our first tandem, my family knew we where going and my mom asked me to call her when i landed. My dad was in denial. Now my faimly jokes about the two of us, saying that once we started skydiving they knew we were going to get married and having a skydiver on top of the cake. My mother is willling to come out and actually been to the DZ with me before we started the AFF course to check it out. Of course my mother has always been more open minded. My dad says no but more than likely come out a little bit after i get my A license. His folks aren't too thrilled to watch either but evenuatelly will.
  6. I live in Florida so the coldest it gets here is high 40s. I tried batters gloves and couldn't get my fingers through my toggles. I got to have skin tight so i use golf gloves. An more experience jumper told me and it was less than $20. Go to sports authorithy. They have a variety, note that the gloves are sold separately and finding small right handed gloves are to find. The gloves have helped alot!!!
  7. HELLO! HIV can only be transmitted by fluid exchange and can not exist outside the body. Come on all this is taugh way back when i was in school. Don't be afraid of what you don't know. I say telling the primiarly staff at the dz is ok but prepare to educate them on the disease. I was do a tandem with you. But remember to take care of yourself first, as you should everyday. If you don't feel up to it, skip the tandems that day/week/ or whatever. I also agree with the AFF instructor idea or even coaching. Come to Florida and i will jump with you. Face your fears!
  8. Hey i jump that rig. I don't get bruises but i cant wait to a get a rig that fits me better in the bust and leg straps. I get so sore in the hips and shoulders. I am only 5'2 and a 110.
  9. It looked cool and I want to do something bold, plus my now husband wanted to do it too- so i took him for his birthday. I hated the freefall but loved the ride down so i went back up. The second time was better as we flipped out. After that it became addictive (the rush & freefall)and challenging.
