  1. There is a group that is already efforting the opening of a small dropzone in North Sonoma County. It is possible that it may be up and running within two months. That was the latest news I am aware of. I am hoping it works out.
  2. Me on my first sport bike. I have owned four others in the past. This one is the most fun of all of them. My farthest single day road trip thus far was 320 miles, the saddle time did not bother me. Nevermind the workboots...
  3. I will happily testify on BEHALF of Bill. On my first H & P out of the 99 I was explicitly informed about the tail low during climb issue by Bill along with several fellow skydivers on that particular load. It is simple, I was told to roll out of the door which is exactly what I did, not too difficult really. Jeff
  4. I don't know. I sent an email but still haven't heard back. I'll call today and try to get some details. I'll post what they have to say.
  5. Hey Ed, Hope things are good with you. How's the wine thing coming along? You did say you wanted to make some if I recall. I met up with some co-workers that I hadn't seen in awhile ask me about my sydiving. That and watching a couple jumpers come down in Cloverdale put the bug back in my ear... Maybe Saturday.
  6. Wow, that's great! Thanks for the reply. I emailed them, hopefully they'll return an answer soon. I haven't jumped in a year plus so it will be interesting to see what there thoughts are.
  7. Hi, Anyone on DZ.com jump there currently? I haven't jumped in a year or so and I was thinking about grabbing a couple and since I live near Cloverdale.... Jeff
  8. And a P-51, and a Stearman.....but what makes it even better is you can still get to 13k for $13 Be safe Ed Is the Stearman still there? I walked by the hangar a week or two ago and I didn't see it in there. I don't think Bill is giving rides in those planes anymore either. Something about the FAA changing the regs regarding 'scenic flights'. I am going to stop by this weekend so I'll sww ya there Ed. J
  9. I bought a house. -$$$$$ I sold the house. +$$$$$ Being married to a home is NOT in my personality.
  10. Yep, finally got off my ASS and made a jump last Friday. Quite enjoyable, quite enjoyable. I found it to be like riding a bike. I left the plane and moved around the sky how I saw fit. Of course, I didn't really do anything special but still, it was pretty easy and I was a bit surprised about that. Being off for so long I jumped a 190 at 1.1, a bit different than the 150 Pilot I last jumped. My landing was fine but I am glad I chose the 190 even though it was sluggish and had tremendous riser pressure. Two things I noticed having issue with, the gear check and EP's (important ones at that). I haven't even glanced at a rig in a year and half and it took me a few extra minutes to check my gear as I had to basically try and remember everything. I did multiple checks just to make sure I got it all. As for my EP's, at first thought I knew what to do...then this doubt creeps in out of nowhere and suddenly I wasn't so sure about which handle to go to first should things not work out with the pitch. I carefully looked around to make sure no one was watching and follow the cables to make sure I had it right. I did, but how embarassing. Anyhow, I donned the rig and went through mock pitches and handle pulling. And, here I am today, yeah. For others that may be coming back, don't be afraid or embarassed to ask questions. I look back now and could have easlily asked for a check up on my know how. Jeff
  11. 5 hours, OUCH! Wonder why Bill isn't running both planes when he's that busy?
  12. Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese and Fried Hot Dogs. And a bottle of decent red wine.
  13. Anyone? Maybe the wrong forum...
  14. I love that song. And yes, I do. But only on the weekends.
  15. Okay, someone informed me that there might be a skydiver in the area that gives flight lessons. Of course this person couldn't remember their name but thought they operated out of Kingdon airport. Anyone? How about recommendations for knoweldgable instructors with good personalities near the area? Thanks, Jeff
  16. They watch an ancient video with Bill Booth and sign a piece of paper. I think it may be a waiver, I never read it though.
  17. Don't let all these "up jumpers" fool you when they try to tell you skydiving isn't safe. They just don't want the public knowing just how safe it really is 'cause then it wouldn't be cool to be a skydiver anymore!
  18. I think those are great pictures Jimmy. From the group picture Tom posted, looks like everyone was having a blast. For all the Naysayers, and not that it matters, but 17 is old enough.
  19. My company is the importer (Barton Brands) for Corona. Yeah baby!! Oh, regular Corona W/Lime, Corona light without.
  20. Does that stuff really work? My wife wants to know. Oh wait...
  21. Not for me. The only sporting event I do bet on occurs when the JETS play the Raiders. I happily accepted my twenty this year.
  22. I hope tonights game is as interesting as the game last night. That was fun to watch, and I don't really follow college ball too much. As a Cali Bloke: GO TROJANS!
  23. I'll elaborate a bit as my original comment was a bit "tongue in cheek". There are many people that view marriage as a novelty, there are also people that don't share this view but treat it as such nonetheless. I have been married for over 13 years; I will say no more about that.
  24. Aren't these traditional vows more of a novelty? Much like marriage itself.
