  7. i live in nyc. i just started diving last summer and have 35 jumps right now. the number is so low because of wether, and the long ride to pa where i did aff. most of my jumps i did in 2 weekend trips to florida. i'm looking for nyc divers to ride together to local dzs, and sare travel expences and just hng out and shot the shit in between jumps. no one i know skydives r really wants to.( stuborn ass bikers man). i'm hooked though. leave e-mail or phone numbers or whatever. ...lets hook up and do this. p.s. just had to share this. i just came back from a weekend at deland that was off the fukin hook. did a running supper man jump out of a caravan and a 2 way head down from 15,700 that we hit 198 mph. ....man i love this. _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
  8. i'm a new diver, 25 jumps when i went there, and think this is the mecca from my limited experience. every one was so nice to me and made me feel so comfortable. i loved the sky van exits. real experienced divers kept inviting me to jump with them in line to the plane and sometimes on the plane. people kept on telling me new shit to try and it was all fun. they efinately follow the 2 most important rles in sky diving. be safe and have fun. no attitudes at all.
  9. i've got bad news and good news. bad news first. thares no such thing as santa claus, theres not really an easteer bunny, theres no bogey men in the middle east who hate us cause we're free, and most all of the politicians out there and all of the ones with real power are full of shit. now the good news. who cares. those politicians are a bunch of greedy bastards that can never be happy no matter how much they get. but we can. we know what it means to live . yo really live. so we have happiness and peace of mind. peace in the middle east, and chicken grease _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
  10. i don't know everything about everything. but if i have a 1 in one 1000 chance of winning the lottery, that doesn't mean i'm garanteed to win ever . even in a million tries. i also might win 5 times out of 5 chances. secondly, i don't see a double mal as purely chance. the main and reserve could be packed perfectly every time. statistics one thing to consider regaurding safety, but certainly not the only or even the main thing to consider. all of this of course being only my humble opinion. _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance

  15. i'm pretty shakey but it doesn't really say anything about parachuting. something like : glorious st michael the archangel, you who liberated us inattle from messengers hate, you who were victoriuos over those of bad principal, protector of all humanity' proect me from evil and the army of demons and silent enimeys protect my actions that i don't offend an one, and to the contrary lie in pace with humanity for the glory of god amen thats the basic idea kind of in the ball park anyway. _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
  16. i went there for my first dive, at first they wanted me to do a tandem. after half an hour of convincing i was in class for aff1. the weather was bad that day so the owner opened the airport the next day(monday),hired a pilot, a radio guy, and 2 instructors for me to do my dive. i completed my aff there, driving 4 hours each way each time i went because of how cool they were. the staff go out of there way for me every time i go there. much love to everyone there.

  18. i've got 25 jumps and am from nyc too. up north too i mean. last fall i went to florida when i had 8 jumps. i called them first and told them my deal. they said come on down. i got there friday, got an overview of the dz, and within an hour was up in the air and out of the plane, with a coach . i got 12 jumps in over the weekend and everyone was very helpful . i think you'll love it. and i think you'll find quite a few people that go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. have fun there baby girl _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance

  20. i have 20 jumps and was ready to buy a sabre 2 190 main as my first parachut. i asked quite afew people no one had anything bad to say about the chut or the choice of chut. then i just heard about this company called aerodyne or something like that, who could save me 20 or 30% the cost of the whole rig. so i'm just looking for any opinions on that parachut. any one heard of them? is that a good chut for my level? is it as safe and easy to land as i hear the sabre is? any help would be appreciated....thanx _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
  21. please forgive my ignorance on this, but my nearest dz is a few hours away. so when i'm not jumping i'm trying to learn about jumping. i'm at 20 jumps by the way. my question is in an emergancy, could 2 people land relitivly safely on a chut ment for 1 person. what made me think about this is an incident report about a camera man who jumped with out a parachut and died. was ther annything any one with a parachut could do to help this man? is there a protocal for this type of emergancy? for instance, if i jump with my wife or very close friend or something like that, and realize for what ever reason nither chut opens, what can i do? my natural instinct would be to try to help anyone i saw in that situation, even if it ment an injury to myself. but i am smart enough to not try anything if there is no chanceof being able to help, or if trying to help would do more harm than good. _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
  22. thankyou all so much for al the knowledge. i am trying to learn every hting i can about this sport to do it safely for myself and others. _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
  23. i was at sky dive sebastian. and i heard about deland, near daytona i believe, and will definately be going there some time and will let you know when. thanx for the invite. and yes i'm talking bikes. _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
  24. i got 20 jumps, been using a navigator 210, last jump i jumped a sabre 190, and liked it. i messed up my landing a little bit, slide on my knees that is. but i like it and know what i did wrong. a gear guy was telling me that the sabre 2 190 would be a good main for me. i am 175 or so and pretty athletic with good reflexes, but i'm old enough to not want to push things too far . i want to remain safe but want to keep on experiencing new things in this sport. i figure to be buying a rig buy about 30-40 jumps, would this be a good main. any opinions wold be greatly appreciated.....thanx. p.s.... the reason i ask is that in the incident report section, there was a thread about a diver with 30 jumps with a spector 190, and alot of people said that he shouldn't have had that chute. _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
  25. i'm new to this site, and new to the sky dive experience . live in nyc, jumped in pa. and fl, real cool people in both places. 20 jumps all together. going 120 down is definately diferent than doing 120 flat. look forward to getting equipment, if any body has an idea let me know. look forward tolearning , getting good and safe enough to jump and bug out with other divers. and i can't wait to base jump one day. oh , and definately look forward to meeting a whole lot of new friends. ps...... any divers out there ride? _________________________________________ people see me as a challenge to their balance
