  1. hey guys, yesterday on the ride up and then again walking back to the packing area i could have sworn my neptune vibrated like a mobile phone. i've been jumping it for a few years, always as a visual alti and have always had the audible alarms disabled. has this happened to anyone else or is it time for me to stop sniffing glue? mike
  2. sweet, i'll email him now. thanks guys. m
  3. hey guys, does anyone know where i can get one of those t-shirts with a wingsuit shilouhette inside the superman logo? i've always wanted one of them. cheers, m
  4. hey guys, just a quick question, what do you think to the wisdom - or total lack thereof - of using a CRW canopy for wingsuiting. i'm -very- vaguely contemplating a second rig and just wondered if it was an option to combine the two disiplines in one container? cheers, mike
  5. cool, thanks for your responses; no cutaway it is. mike
  6. hello guys, i'm looking to order a phantom 2 in the next couple of days and wondered if people think the leg cutaway system is worth the extra 70 euros? i'm not having any luck loading up the user manual on the pf website to read about it. this will be my first wingsuit and i jump a spectre 170 so i'm not needing to run out stupidly fast hp landings. cheers, mike
  7. just checked out teh diary, sounds pretty sweet to me. thanks for your replies, see you in a bit. mike
  8. hey guys, i'm heading off to melbourne in a month or so and just wondering what the jumping is like out there? i've looked the dzs on the apf site, am i right in thinking apart from nagambie it's pretty much just tandem dzs? thanks for your help.
  9. though taking good honest american pollution and dumping it in mexico would keep in the spirit of NAFTA.
  10. i haven't updated my profile in a while, i'm now around 180, which i guess still isn't enough, but i don't think i'd be too keen on jumping with a chestmounted reserve for a while even if they would let me, i'll keep my eye out for a container. thanks for your help dude.
  11. does anyone know if the BPA or any english DZs will let you jump with a base canopy? i've read a couple of threads talking about jumping ravens, furys and parafoils, which i guess could be a happy alternative, but ideally i'd like the practice on the real thing. i don't know why, but the forum isn't letting me do any searches whatsoever today, so if i've missed the a thread that spells this out, sorry.
  12. hey, I bumped into you in Perris about a week ago, i'd just got back from my fjc in TF and you were talking about some jumps in the SW. Please pm me, if the offer to watch one of them is still open, i'd love to hear back from you. cheers dude. mike
  13. that was what i meant, feet standing quite happily inside the plane, throwing it out and waiting.
  14. when i was out in deland last easter i did alot of jumps in shorts and t-shirt, unfortunately one jump i'd just been down to the 7-11 to get some cigarettes and i took my passport for id..... having to explain to my embassy that i lost my passport 13,00ft above florida made me feel pretty damn stupid.
  15. something i've been wondering about for a while now, what do you guys reckon would happen if you were to stand in the back of the skyvan, facing the pilot, and throw out your pc? run in speed can't be much faster than terminal? would you come to grief? NB: i am not thinking of trying this in any hurry.
  16. has anyone had any problems replacing the lens? the manual says you can do it with a ball point pen, but that's not how it's working for me. i'm using anything i can get my hands on and after a about half a turn it's refusing to budge. i'm assuming they unscrew anti-clockwise. Just kinda worried that i'll slip and scratch the lens.
  17. does anyone know if gravitator are still in business? i'm trying to order one, but their website seems to be down.
  18. a mate of mine got one of these a whiel ago and was using it for making snowboarding videos. does anyone use them for skydiving? http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/dogcampro520.htm sorry i don't know how to make it clicky. editted to add : turns out they're also called bullet cams and i found an old thread about it.
  19. i care. i care way too much. i've not been around for long, but it really grates me when people say it.
  20. for sheer jumping fun hop and popping or going to 6k, you can't beat a 206, some of my favourite jumps have been in that, if you're going to the top the camo g92 is pretty cool, fast, comfy and generally evil looking.
  21. imagine having a testicle under your leg strap when you pull.......
