  1. Cuban Coffee! Seriously, it's great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDcQoUHVukw _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  2. Elitism!?!? That takes the irony cake! I have flown in First/Business class for literally thousands of hours on every US carrier and I can say without reservation, that the most self-entitled, self-involved, rude, elitist class of asshats I have ever been exposed to is that of the frequent flying, "I want my upgrade, scotch, and woobie" business passenger. Disclaimer: I don't work for an individual airline and this was not directed at you personally Fiend. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  3. I'll be interested in reading your reply. You may be right but remember, at the time they searched Chick 1's email account, all they had was six emails from one civilian biographer to another civilian (not professionally associated with Patreaus or in government service in any way) aggressively telling her to stop flirting with him. It's been a while since I've been in the game, but every Federal Magistrate or Judge I've ever known would have laughed me out of their office. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  4. Maybe I'm missing something, but this whole thing stinks if you ask me: Chick 1 had an affair with Petraeus Chick 2 is a Petraeus family friend Chick 2 goes to her FBI buddy and says "Chick 1 is being mean to me" and all the sudden the FBI has probable cause to search Chick 1's email account??? I'm sure there is plenty that is being left out of the NY Times articles I have read, but I don't know of any Judge who would sign a warrant based on a cat fight. Like I said, this whole thing stinks and I think it's mostly from the 4th Amendment being shat upon. Correction: Chick 2 did not initially know who wrote the emails...which makes the overreach even more troubling. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  5. Agreed, starting at 3:45 is, IMO, the most powerful 5 minutes of guitar playing I have ever seen. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  6. Yes, we should have let one or more of the big banks, auto makers, airlines, etc. go bankrupt, kept the stimulus money and retooled the economy. Paulson and Geitner should have been turned away at the door. It would have made for a longer and more painful but more stable recovery. Mis dos centavos. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  7. You would lose your wager, and perhaps much more. Full disclosure: I have several firearms in my home. Irregardless, it has long been established that, statistically speaking, homeowners are much more likely to accidentally shoot someone they know but mistake for an intruder than they are to intentionally defend themselves at their home with a gun. To expect the worst and shoot first will, more often than not, result in a neighbor, cousin, lover, child, etc., being perforated. Additionally, those who keep a weapon in the home for self defense are about three times more likely to commit a murder of passion. Food for thought. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  8. There was a skydiver in TN in the 90's that used to wingwalk before she started jumping. I think her name is Pamela Hamlett (sp?) or something like that. IIRC, she said she actually survived a forced landing during one of her stunts. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  9. Correct. The Aviation and Transportation Security Act, which created the laughable TSA, was, in point of fact, written by airline lobbyists. It's the same with every industry that is "regulated" by the government. Corporatocracy at its finest. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  10. Have a look at the Merrell Wilderness boot. It's been around for years and enjoys a legendary reputation. I have owned a pair for 15-20 years and I'm about to send it back to Merrell to get re-soled...again. REI and others sell them for $300, but if you wear a size 10.5, 11, or 13, you can snag a pair from Nordstroms for $99.90. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  11. If chance (fate) favors the prepared mind, as Pasteur said, the question then becomes: Did you prepare yourself alone? Probably not. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  12. Clearly his Mom's kitchen...she's gonna be pissed. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  13. I had gone to bed early and read the bad news in the paper. My immediate response was to get up and pour a proper glass of whiskey in his honor. RIP Hitch. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  14. The Chancellor of the college made the right move suspending (with pay) the officer's involved pending the results of an investigation, however, if any of these guys gets disciplined in any way over this thing, the Chancellor should lose her job. Those kids endangered themselves and others pulling that encirclement move. Really stupid, even for kids. The bad thing, unfortunately, is that other protestors elsewhere will try the same thing and it won't turn out so well. You are going to have to step over these dim bulbs and schlep the cuffed guy over them too. What does it mean when our best and brightest kids *intend* to cause harm in order to *not* make a point. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  15. It was not until I was an adult. I began to question what I saw as clear inconsistencies and contradictions in Christianity (and all theistic notions). In order to be a truthful human being I was forced to conduct a spiritual and factual investigation and to thoughtfully consider the results. That's all it takes really; serious thought valuing credibility and ethics above faith and comfort. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
