  1. I wouldn't go spending $110 to learn about parachute aerodynamics from a book that I doubt even mentions parachutes though. Dave It doesn't mention parachutes. I am currently using this book for an aerodynamics class at UF. It is very mathimatically intense, and I would not recommend it for someone with little to no math background. -Justin
  2. Sorry to hear about the cancer. Thats awesome that you beat it. Hot rodding is definitely an addiction, much like skydiving. I just cant afford both at the same time, so I have not raced in a while, but I'll get back to it after I finish school. -Justin
  3. Hey RO! See ya at the DZ. Summer and I are camping there this weekend. That way she can camp and I can jump.
  4. Well then I stand corrected. Besides I never claimed to know more about your car then you do. I meant that the average performance car we get in the shop is not capable of running those numbers with that kind of set up, and since you have 48 years of experience you know I'm right about that. So You have obviously put a lot more time and energy into your ride then most people do to get that kind of power to weight ratio, so props to you!
  5. Nope, 3200lbs with me in it. Most good passes are low 11's, but in good air it can break in the 10's. Most 60ft times for low 11's are in the 1.5 sec range.
  6. Hate to bust your bubble dude, but I've been a technician at a speed shop for 6+ years and there is no way 440 hp will put that car in the low 10's. High 10's...maybe and that is only if the car is pretty light. My camaro (picture earlier in this thread) puts down 430 hp to the tires ( yes we have a chassis dyno), and it will bearly squeek into the 10's... Sorry I'm off my soap box now...sweet ass car though!
  7. Civic's rarely try me in this car....But its fun when they do....
  8. I know what you mean. I have 6.5 and sometimes on playback or sending to a tape it will start playing in fast foward or do something stupid like that.....pain in the butt when I'm trying to record back to a tape...
  9. Here is a couple of mine. The one on my back was kinda difficult to get a picture of, but close enough.
  10. An experience jumper at our DZ wrapped his camera with cellophane and used it as a template to form a box. The process I guess is time consuming, but the results were awesome. That's what I did. It came out pretty good, considering its the first one I've made. It really is not that hard. All you need is some sandpaper, fiberglass and resin, and a dremel tool is invaluable. Wrap the camera in plastic wrap or wax paper or something similiar, and start wrapping it with fiberglass soaked in resin. Take you time and it will come out pretty good. Thought I had a pic saved on my computer of mine. I'll post one when I find it.

    1st Cutaway!!!

Thanks Art! I'll try to make the next repack last a while longer. By the why I forgot to give you the main closing loop. I cleaned the container and took it out and forgot to replace it. I'm sure you have more, though. Thanks again

    1st Cutaway!!!

Hey Lance, I found the main and reserve free bag on the other side of the airport the next morning. I sweating it the night before, I was sure I lost it. I was lucky.

    1st Cutaway!!!

Since it was a night jump I deployed about 4200ft, fought it till my audible went off at 3000ft, then let it go. To much centrifical force to be able to do much with it.

    1st Cutaway!!!

Just thought I'd mention I had my 1st(I know, beer!) cutaway. Oh, and it was on a night jump. I was in Z-hills this past weekend attended the coach course with Elly Clement. I'm now a coach!!!
  15. I tend to agree with you, after all its bad form to go in without all of your pins pulled. Bad body position or not, deploy the reserve, thats what its there for. I assume that he was wearing a belly mounted reserve, but the more nylon over you, completely inflated or not, the better. With that said, I am sincerely glad he escaped serious injuries. Just my 2 cents.
  16. I feel your pain. Skydive Williston near Gainesville was shut down as well. Thanks Bush! It was kinda neat though, because there was a small plane still flying in the area and it got a "friendly" escot to the ground by an F-16.
  17. Thanks a lot. That definitly helps. Funny, cause I have downloaded several tutorials form wrigley's website, but never saw that one before. thanks again
  18. I saw a recent post about doing a split screen effect with two seperate clips. I have tried it and its pretty cool, but my question is how can I center the clips in each screen. Meaning, when you split the screen you basically cut the screen in half cutting off half of the picture. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
  19. WOW! That looks really painful. This stuff is fun as hell, but will bit you in an instant. Hope you recover soon.
  20. Why not look at the FTP and get the extra space? Because I already paid for the narrow, and I got an excellent deal on it. I was thinking about building a new helmet but wasn't really in a hurry, but then I ran into this so I went for it. Maybe I try couple of configurations, I like the idea of putting both on top with the video behind the still on a riser block or something.
  21. Hey guys! I'm soon to get a sweet flat top narrow bonehead. I just wanted to see if anyone that has one, mount the still on top and the video in front. I have never personally seen this but I bet one of you have. I would do it like that because I have a PC100, and canon G2, and I think it will be more low profile if I put the PC100 in front. any suggestions on why I should or should not do this. I don't have the helmet yet but the only issue I can think of is the weight in front. Your opinions are always welcomed. This is the helmet with the bad a** cut away system. I will post some pics after I get it and assemble everything.
  22. I have about 250 jumps with a velocity. I made a plate on the top for stills and I hand made a fiberglass box to side mount a PC 100. A TRV is sort of long if I am not mistake, so making a top is mount is possible but you need to pay close attention to keeping it as snag free as possible. here are some pics of my setup, maybe they can give you some ideas. Also a cut away system is highly, highly recommended, mine is hard to see in the pic. It is realy just a pin that holds the chin straps to the helmet that has a 1" wide piece of webbing attached to it and velcroed to the helmet. good luck
  23. I have about 125 jumps on a 135 sabre, and before that, about 150 jumps on a 150. Mine opened fast, with the occasional hard one. I have since added a pocket slider, that has 3 pockets up front, and that slowed it way down. Now I aveage 800-1000 ft nice slow openings, very nice. Overall its a very good canopy.
