  1. have a wicked time! hope it works. Good to have some girls on the attempt, show those boys how its done only joking... L
  2. I had a wicked time :-) Everyone was smiley and helpful and noone laughed too much at my attempt at flatflying in the scrambles (although Sian did say she was shocked that I seemed to remember the next point most of the time...) :-) Thanks everyone for a wicked time, can't wait till the next party. I will have a think about the competitions, tag is an obvious one, but could be a bit dangerous if people get too involved. L
  3. Don't worry Les, it was all good fun, just novelty to be on my belly again for a change :-) lol Laura
  4. I've just come back from Perris where myself and some friends had coaching from Alchemy both in the air and in the tunnel. Had a wicked time and learnt a lot. I would highly recommend it. Other coaches I have had a good experience with would be Melissa and Amy (used to be SugarGliderz (sp?)), Stefania from 1st School of Modern Skyflying, and Rob Silver from the UK. I'm sure there are many other good coaches but this is my experience so far. L
  5. There is a british skydiving magazine http://www.skydivemag.com/ that you get when you join the british parachute association http://www.bpa.org.uk. As you haven't put anything in your profile I don't know if you skydive or not, but if you skydive in the UK you are required to be a member for insurance purposes and then you get 6 magazines a year, otherwise you can also subscribe for just the magazine. See the webpage. Hope this helps, Laura

    Skysisters boogie

Thanks Piers, you're such a charmer Just because you've had no luck with your attempts to shag pretty much all of them.

    Skysisters boogie

I know a couple of British chicks who are gonna be there, but you know them already
  8. Unfortunately I'm still going to be in australia, probably at Picton near Sydney, or maybe Nagambie near Melbourne (hope I spelt them right ), Otherwise I'd be there for sure. Have fun, L x
  9. awesome pictures, I had hoped to make it to the langar boogie, but couldn't in the end, gutted now! L
  10. I think it is true, though you will have to check with the dz to find how much it will impact on the jump programme. I've heard that their Turbine Islander is going to be at South Cerney quite a lot as the Let is broken, I would have thought that would have an immediate impact as well. L PS. I think that it is spelt Netheravon .

    CERPS Gap-Tallard

Only visited for a week but was made to feel welcome straight away. Was fairly quiet so getting on a lift was easy. The porters were fast, and the mountain scenary was beautiful. Definately a place to visit.
  12. yeah, whatever, just 'cos you wish you could ever look even 10% as good as me. L
  13. mine too, flying in it took a bit of getting used to but I love it now, may just have to take the arms in a little. Was surprised at how well it fits
  14. I actually find that I can fly without my arms in this position (arms crossed in front of chest) and fly more with my back, however taking a hand dock does prove difficult as my legs tend to be closer together in this position and hence it is further to reach. I find that is also slightly less reactive, presumably because I'm not using the large surface area of my legs as well as my back.
  15. I have been flying head up for quite a while now, but whenever I go for coaching whether head up or head down or a coach/more experienced freeflyer sees my sitfly position on video, I get advised to totally change my position. There seem to be two general types of head up position when in a sit that both work for me: 1) the american/english advice I've had is a crunched position with feet slightly under my legs to burble myself slightly (otherwise I am super slow) 2) the babylon/french advice, a very open body position with wide, 3/4 straight legs to keep the speed on. Don't know if I've explained them very well, but although they both seem to work for me and I tend to get where I want, any comments on pros and cons of these positions would be appreciated. Thanks, Lili
  16. Cheers Gus, would have been great to see you at the nationals, shame you decided not to compete, might see you at the Langar Boogie, should be up during the week. L
  17. Just wanted to say that I had an awesome weekend, as did my team mates. Not only because we got the gold in the Freefly Bs but because we met some wicked people. Good to see Wayne and Geoff and Andy (Homesick Fridge) again, and well done again you guys. Vertical Insanity (from Headcorn) had a wicked routine and are awesome fliers, plus they just made us laugh! Would love to meet up with them again and do some jumps. The Lost Boys who won last year were on the same load as us for every round joking and laughing, keeping the ride to altitude chilled. If anyone knows which dz in the uk they are usually at if you could let me know that would be great. The other Foxes (Foxes and Hound) did well with after discovering after 2 rounds that the judges did not like their routine and managing to change it to push up to 6th place. A great time was had by all the Freefly Foxes! Our Cameraman Matt Wiggaz was fantastic (how he managed to make us look that good I will never know), and funny, and rude, and a party animal, it wouldn't be the same without him. Obviously there were so many great people there that I haven't mentioned (including all the other Freefly B teams, Tumbleweed, Project Airwave, International Space Kettle, Tequila, Space, Freejive, VNE, Euphoria, Bullet, etc ...). Hope you all had as great a time as we did, and thanks to Hibble for making us feel so welcome and once again holding an awesome competition. Hope to see you all soon, Laura
  18. I had a break for a year because I lost the joy in skydiving, but I came back to the sport when I realised it was things in my personal life that had affected my view of the sport, not the sport itself. Been jumping again for 18 months now with a bunch of great people and loving it more than ever! A lot of people seem to take a break now and then, but most come back

    UK Nationals

Hello Wookie! When you down at nethers again? Would be good to see you, Lili PS We know, but thank you anyway

    Learn to sit fly?

Personally I would talk to a freefly coach about the position, do a bit of ground training, talk about the safety issues, and then give it a go on your own. Once you've done a couple, then get some coaching to improve your position and ensure you are not backsliding or skating round the sky too much. Everyone has different views on this though, speak to a freefly coach at your dropzone that you trust and ask his/her opinion. Good luck and have fun Lili

    UK Nationals

Yes, the freefly foxes will be competing this year, thanks andy Will be good to see you at the nationals this year gus, although you do know you can't compete in a birdman suit There might be some weird guys in particularly tasteful yellow suits in the A's, and a couple of other random teams from Nethers in the B's. Hopefully Al and Swifty will be competing again this year (not sure what category), thay were excellent in the B's last year. Would be nice to have a big competition this year, See you all there, Lili
  22. I find that I rarely have to de-arch in terms of speed, and I drop my knees to lose height (referred to as crab tracking in previous threads). If the 'rabbit' or lead tracker is superfast then I de-arch as well and don't have to use my knees as much as it is flatter as well. I find arching a very inefficient way get down to a formation as, however hard I try not to, I lose speed as well. Anyone else?
  23. ah, thats what crab tracking is, I've been trying that for a few weeks now, is very effective if you are a bit floaty light compared to the rest of the tracking dive in getting down to it. Thanks for the pics. Did some wicked tracking jumps this weekend with my team mate (excellent backtracker
  24. I for one don't know what crab tracking is, could you describe it or post a photo/vid. Thank you, Lili
