How did youmanage to be "under a good canopy" that was still in the bag? Am I missing something here? I typed that wrong I noticed I wasn't under a good canopy...Sorry. Hey at least it can't get much worse. I must say I'm in good spirits thanks to all my freeks. You guys keep making me smile...oh and some of you not so freeks...(but soon to be ie. karen and julia). The usual:7:1 Great jumps this past weekend with my usual freeflyers. Then my first cutaway after a "baglock". Why in quotes you say. Well after I pulled I noticed I was under a good canopy looked up and it was in the bag still...I get to the ground and witnesses say as soon as they saw me fall away from the bag they saw the canopy starting to inflate. :( I figure I made the right decision by chop chopping it. At least I'm alive to tell the story. Oh..to make things even better...found the main in a tree 70 feet up...found the free bag in another tree 70 feet up...and found the cutaway handle. :) Got the main out by climbing using timber spikes and some climbing gear and the freebag is being extracted tomorrow. All in all a great weekend. OH...Introduced 9 "whuffos" to the sport...I think that puts me up at 28 people that I have convinced to go skydiving in a year. --joe HISPA #69 The Best Band in the WORLD!!! On a sad note. Dawn #3 and her boyfriend Ross were in a major car accident in which the drivers of the car that hit them unfortunately didn't make it. Ross and Dawn are both in good spirits and doing well. Ross will probably be grounded till January at best and Dawn hopefully will be grounded shorter than that. Last I heard Ross had a broken collar and Dawn suffered ankle and hand injuries. Keep them in your thoughts CSSers and freakflyers(Not that you're not CSSers but they were part of our small family) Great jumps today...thanks to John Lyman who actually did a sitfly jump with Eric and I...that was a shock.
