  1. I don't use an alti to hook, because it distracts me at the most important moment. Another thing is that if you are going to swoop on a specific point like a pond or trough blades you should judge altitude with your eyes more than an alti, maybe an alti will help to let you know you still are at a safe zone to procede with your maneuver. Im just saying this because I know people that can swoop really fast and long just because they have a big landing area and will do the hook turn where their alti tells them to do it. You take that same person and tell him to swoop a pond going trough a blade couse and I bet he will miss or will get hurt. Swooping is not only coming fast and making long distances. Swooping is about all that, but also having accuracy and stile. Why do you think swooping events have rules and different diciplines. I think a person willing to try this kind of landings should be a person that has a lot of canopy experience and know his canopy very well. There are out there a lot of good swoopers that will be willing to teach people willing to learn. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"

Christie and I just got this new puppy, its a Dashound but we still don't have a name for him. Can you help us? "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  6. If you think that pic is nice, you should se the whole album. Its my wife, she is so beautifull! "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  7. #2 is the best but I would look for a pic tha doesnt look like the swooper is diggin' out "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"

  9. I lost my wing-ginity on a classic, I had over 2,000 jumps and this was in feb 2002 at the Puerto Rico Freefall Fest. It was a coach jump with Jari. I don't regret doing a coach jump with my experience. I was trying something new and I wanted to do it the right way. Im a BMI and I follow the Birman Flight Manual but I reccomend doing a coach jump with a BMI wether you have 250 or 2,500 jumps. Anyways.... ......It ain't the same flying solo. 10. I've had two VX, my first one flew great, The riser pressure was a killer but could live with it, BUT the openings suck. I lost that canopy at Quincy few years ago after a line twist. Gone! I bought another one with also great characteristics, also hard riser pressure and even worst opennings. A lot of line twist. I tried every single packing trick there is but didn't help to much. After my last cut away, because of another line twist, not to mention when flying the wing suit, I said that was it for my VX and called Chris Martin cause I wanted a Xaos which I had tried and was a blast in every aspect. I didn't have the money for a new Xaos so I tried the Precision XVX Mod. To make the story short, I love my XVX, Great opennings with slopy pack jobs, great line strech flying my S3 and really good and long swoop. Ohhh... Realy good riser preasure. Can't say anything about the latest versions of the VX, cause I havent tried them yet. But as soon as I have enough cash I will buy a Xaos. 11. It all depends on the desing, if its a solid color make shure you protect whit tape or paper what you dont want to paint. I you can stip naked your helmet better. first you sand it to leave a smooth surface. wipe the helmet with a humid cloth to take of the dust. The painting part is not that easy, you never want to leave the thing pressed cause you will make a mess. The best way to spay pain is to stay a feet or more appart from the helmet and... ...do like Mr. Miyagi, spray left, spray right, spray left, spray right, up, down, in, out. then you let dry, please away from fresh cut grass and flying insects. Void the sand also. After its dry you will do the same with the clear coat. Let dry dry and put your helmet back together. Wala. 12. One thing I forgot about why I use a helmet, I know the difference of landing my XVX with a tight helmet that don't let me hear Shit and no helmet. Its scary hearing yourself coming to the ground that fast and not being in a car. Chris, Thank's again for the mod., you save my neck and balls. See you in Feb. 13. One thing, the pics wont look super sharp cause of the resolution. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  14. I just finished the helmet last night. Its not 100% what I wanted but, you can't tell from 13,000 ft. I never use air brush, although Its better. I usually use BOYD Enamel Paint and Model Master Enamel from the can. These are used for RC car models. You can find them at your local RC hobbie shop. The cool thing about the paint I used this time is that they have a pearl look, even the clear coat. That gives a sparkling look. If you want it. There are a lot of people out there that can do a better job, like guys that paint Chopper bikes or helmets. Thats top ship. I just do it for fun. Hope this info could help you. This is the final product pics. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  15. A helmet for me is like my parachute, I don't jump without it. When freeflying Its a must. When flying my S3 also a must. Don't wanna talk about landing my XVX 78, no no no, the ground is comming to fast and the last thing I wanna lose in case of an accident its my head. When I'm doing tandems, thats the only time I don't wear a helmet and there is no excuse on that one because I also have a chance on hitting the C-man when doing my spin generators. But I just don't use it. Maybe because 6 or 7 years ago I opened the Cessna door and saw my helmet fly away. You got to see my face on the video NON HAPPY CAMPER all the way down. I almost forget... When I,m filming a tandem I also wear my helmet. Funny Ha... I think wearing a hemet for me comes from a personal experience. I lost one of my best friends when he hit the runway after a low hook turn. He died on impact. Even though he was wearing a helmet, his head injuries were massive. Helmet.... ...It's not a fashion thing. Blues, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  16. Yea, thats true, its hard for other rigs. I have a friend thats got a Reflex and he sew a little tab to the binding behind the neck and putted the ball. All the containers with that V shape flap should be good, just adjust the size of the bungee to the size of the Flap. This got to be done very carefully and I know it wont be recommended by any manufacturer. This mod. should be ok for most containers but unfortunately some wont be able to have it. We are all responsable for what we do with our equipment. And should always ask a rigger about this mods. Blues. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  17. If you see the first picture, thats one of the options and the one I use, I'm lazy and don't want to sew the slider either. As I say above, I've been using this for a long time and I really works. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  18. I dont know if you went to the old thread here we disscused this. Read Below. It my help Bad,Bad idea, you never know when that airbagin front of your face is going to pop open and........ Ouchhhhh! Lazyfrog mentioned the bungee with a ball. Well ive been using that for more than five years and let me tell you, I think is the best and cheapest. You can go to your nearest packing tent or any of those tarps arround your Dz if any, and steel one of those black bungees cords they use to tie them, ball is included. Get one in good conditions, please! When you get it the thing should bee a loop with the ball at the end. You will carefully open your reserve flap, pass the bungee loop through, close the reserve flap. Thats all. Now.... There are two ways of attaching your slider to the ball. (1) You eather sew a little piece of pullup cord or binding tape to your slider. Can be the center front or the center back, (I dont even know where is mine) Loop a large rubberband tho the pice you just sew (Its exactly how you put the rubberbands on you D-bag) When you open and bring down the slider, roll it, roll it, roll it but remember to expose the rubberband and lock the Rband to your black ball. "Black Ball sounds nasty! but thats what it is!" You got it! (2) forget about putting the RBand to your slider and attach one RBand to anothe then to your B-B. When you bring down the slider roll it, roll it, roll it and pass the RBand arround and lock it to the BB Guys there are a lot of ways on stowing your slider, like I said Ive been using it for a long time and almost everyone at my DZ does, never had a problem, just make shure when you put the bungee to your reserve flap not to live it to tight that your flap will bend or too loose. Check out few pics on how it ends up, with or with out the RBand, and how to loop the two rBands together. Cant show you the slider cause Im packed. It doesnt work on all containers! WARNING- this is a home made product not ment for skydiving, use it at your own risk. Once you try this there wont be anymore hellicopters following you, JeJe! Safe swoops. 19. Thanks for the safety factors, but yes I will have a strap around both of the cameras. I wont go out only on two screws. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  20. U R right, there is lack of software, but atleast I dont have many problems, Usually I only use three art Programs and the rest is just fun stuff. Like my XPlane Flight simulator. But.... yeap they are expensive as hell. I paid nearly $3,000 for mine with all the toys but no art programs. That an Extra $1,500 or so. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  21. Nope, hopefully this Weekend. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  22. Ive never liked full face helmets, I know there great, but thats just me. First I tried the Digital camera with a stoboframe but it was to high above my head and any movement was deadly for my neck. So I took off the SFrame and left it with a screw. The Digital feels heavier but not a big issue, but the Rebel is like my old helmet, not a problem. About the angle for the cameras, you are right, first I will make few jumps to make sure if it's set OK, Right now with a quick test on the ground and tandem distance it aimed perfectly. The worst thing that can happen is that if I don't like it, I will live the Stils cam. on center top and put the PC on the side like usual. Hopefully, it does works. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
  23. This is my new Camera helmet. I wanted to switch from side cam to both on top. It holds a 10D or a 35mm Rebel and any PC, and if I want to brake my neck I can use another PC on the side. ust neet to put the L-braket. Its was kind of a pain to get a perfect allumminum top but got it on the first try after making few cardboard molds. Cant say it works great but it feels comfortable and both cams are dead center. Cant show you the 10D mounted on it cause I needed to take the pictures with it. but it looks Cool. A lot heavier but Cool! By the way, The blow switch will work for 35mm and Digital, just switch the cams. Anyone know about a carbon fiber box to protect the 10D? The other helmet is my new paint job, just need a clear coat and ready for some air. The cam helmet will soon be painted. hope you like it. 24. I have some experience in Mac. I have an old iMac, and a one year old power book. Its got 1GHz speed 1G Ram, 60GHD, Super drive. My wife got a 12" Power book with a lot of power also. I'm a graphic artist and Mac is the best for the matter but its great for anything else, anyone can use a Mac, you should switch. I love the Jaguar, its very strong and solid System. I imagine the Panther is even better. If you are looking to start editing on a Mac. It come with the iMovie which is a very easy editing program. All you need is creativity and believe me you can do miracles. If you want to spend Cash there are few editing programs like final cut pro and few other more. My recommendations.... Ask, talk, read, learn and buy. Blues, Julio "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
